What is the newspaper situation in Tobago for a news junkie? Are US/UK papers available? if so, how late are they? If there is a choice of T&T publications, is there one with international coverage and which would suit a Times reader? I know I should chill-out and forget the rest of the world, but these days I'm so worried for my retirement fund
One day and counting....

Here comes the sun

Hi Ian
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that it goes entirely against the ethos of a holiday on Tobago. The fact is that there's no point worrying about it - it will change nothing. So, take off your watch as soon as you get onboard that plain and simply relax. What will be will be.
Enjoy.

Hi Ian
Glad you took it the right way.
In truth, I couldn't answer your question because this is one area where I most definitely practise what I preach. While I am in Tobago I assume the rest of the world is still out there, but I care not one jot - after all, if a disaster is awaiting me then I might as well enjoy my last few days unfettered by worries about it.
In that sense, I must admit that I have never read a newspaper in Tobago and only switch on the TV in places we are reviewing to check that the TV works and to check on reception quality. I confess I've never seen any British newspapers around, so I suspect that you will HAVE to relax and ignore the news at home and elsewhere.
Have a great time - I'm sure you will once you switch off. Remember, take your watch off as soon as you get on that plane and get your partner to give you a good slap every time you look down at your wrist. Time watching and time keeping are not allowed on Tobago.

High Steve,
I agree absolutly with what you say, but think that if you remove your watch, you may miss the flight home by weeks, that would be terrible.
Jack.

Some people just get so bogged down with technicalities!
Solution: when you go back to the hotel room and find your bags outside the door, you know its time to get down to the airport.

But you need your watch to tell when it is beer or rum time

David, that is oh so sad! Do you need a watch to tell you when you need to go to the loo too?

Well said Mr. Whooler!
Dear David, there is no need for a watch on Tobago. It is beer time when the sun is high and rum time when the sun is going down or maybe just when you feel like having a beer or a rum...
Ian, you will enjoy Tobago and you will not miss your newspapers until you go back home! Than you remember there was something about news ....

and still don't really want to know it.
RELAX and enjoy island time!

David,
As the wise sage Jimmy Buffett says in his song, "It's five o'clock somewhere"
By the way how many days now until it's "Tobago Time" ?

David,
As I've previously posted we're not going to make it back to Tobago until 03/10. We will have to make do with a trip to Puerto Vallarta this coming Feb.

I know, it's tough, but somebody's got to do it. So many places in need of our tourist dollars and so little time
Mary Lou sends her love.
