Just Returned - Hear the Rave

Just got back from a wonderful week in Tobago. We stayed at Sandy Point Beach Club which we were very pleased with. Clean, convenient and safe. Planned events daily and nightly entertainment with opportunity to meet other guests. Thumbs up to the staff.
Sheppy's rental car was excellent. Believe it or not but we had a flat tire and dead battery when we stopped for dinner on Sunday evening and in less than 10 minutes of calling them they appeared with another car. Excellent service.
Would not have been able to truly enjoy the beauty of this island without the car. Husband did fine driving, but it is curvy roads, potholes, cows, goats, dogs, cats to be on the lookout for in road or roadside but that it what makes this island unique.
We did not get a cell phone but I would recommend one. If we had the flat tire and dead battery in the middle of the rain forest drive we would have been in bad situation. So whatever the cost, I would recommend.
Island Girl Snorkeling trip was a definite thumbs up....Made our week complete. You will not regret that trip at all. The meal was excellent, the staff were SUPER, and we were able to snorkel sites not attainable from highway. No need to snorkel you can just enjoy the sail, food and excellent drinks.
Do take caution as you do in any of your travels. The majority of the people there were super nice but there are those few as anywhere that are up to no good. Do not get cars with strangers, offer lifts to anyone on the street and you will be fine. I myself would not walk at night unless there was a large group. This country is not without crime but no country is so keep that in mind and you will be fine.
