OK - deep breath, drum roll, clash of cymbals-
May I announce that my book
'Views From A Hill In Tobago' is now available!!!!!
You WILL buy it, won't you?
The title was a bit of a chore as I don't do titles very well; 'My Holiday in Tobago' sounded dull, 'A Taste of Tobago' sounded like a cookery book, and 'My Tobago' would land me in all sorts of trouble
I was hoping to browbeat young Watkins into buying a copy before he skedaddled off to Castara, but I expect I've missed the boat (or plane) there. I'll get him when he comes back.....
So this is it:

There WAS a preview, but I managed to lose it

I'm trying to restore it but meanwhile.. you don't need one, do you?
Do give it a go. It's only 87 pages, 20,000 words, so won't take long to peruse...
Noe in triumph...

Hello AH,
Sorry about the price. As it's self -published I have to charge for Lulu's production costs, so even if I make no profit ( and lulu take 20% of that) I still have to charge £7.04. I may reduce the price or make it available as a download, but I want people to buy the book as I'm so proud that I've done all the formatting, proof- reading and editing myself, and my knowledge of computers is nowt! I've bought my own copy, and I'm pleased with the layout and quality of it.
Thanks for looking at the sight.
And thanks to you, my namesake (with an e!)
Noe
PS Preview now available, doesn't look as good as the book.

OK AH,
You are obviously a canny Scot. I've trimmed the price (though I can't charge less than £7.04) and I've made it available as a download.
Sorry Carole W. and my undying gratitude if you are the person I see from my account who has placed an order already
I'd like to recoup the cost of my own copy, and maybe as an incentive I'll offer to make a donation to My Tobago.
I can purchase an ISBN number to make the book available elsewhere, including libraries, but that will cost from £60 to £70 and I will have to market it myself; something I'm not cut out for.
I think I might comment on the Lulu forum about costs.
Must go, haven't cleaned my house for weeks...

Oh well done Noe

Top marks for effort and stickability.I am looking foreward to recieving your book but I might just keep the reading of it until I am in 'Bago next year so that I can really get the maximum impact.I love the cover; very calming and tranquil but I suspect that it may be hiding a bit of a roller coaster read liberally sprinkled with much wry hilarity

I hope so
Luv Gill xx
Hold it right there!

I am an absolute idiot, fool, and a plonker. I have now discovered that I can make my book much cheaper simply by changing the paper size to a standard US one.
I am now going to have to re-format the whole thing!!!!
Don't do anything until it's ready.
Gill and Carole, thank you so much, and I'm so sorry. I feel that I've swindled you.
I will make a donation to a charity of your choice...

Well done Sis! You should be very pleased with yourself.
I've been to Lulu and checked it out. Looks great! Not being much of a credit card person I found that I couldn't buy a copy with my Maestro card but I will persuade Janette to let me use her plastic for my purchase.
Love

Hey Bruv!
I hope I'm not going to cause a riot, but I've re-vamped the cover AND the title, but the contents are the same, as is the ID number.

I was advised that the cover and title didn't reflect the humorous content, so I've just spent two hours working on it as I didn't realise I could customise it. And I haven't had a coffee yet.
Thanks for your custom, as they say, and bless you.
Putting kettle on...

Go on... cause a riot!
Looks great! Lots more colour and the title is brilliant. Now you've made the original copies with the old cover and title into collector's items.
Think I'll join you in that cuppa. Cheers me dear!
Love
Tony
