I will traveling back to Canada via Port of Spain. Can someone tell me if I clear customs in Tobago or in Port of Spain. I am booking flights and want to know how much time I should give between flights in Port of Spain. Is a hour eneough? If I have to clear customs in Tobago how long before the flight should I be at the airport?

Hi Rob,

The flight to Trinidad is classed as domestic, so although you'll go through baggage checks etc here for the crossing to Trini, you'll clear customs 'properly' when you leave Trinidad. I'd allow much more than an hour to be honest. In my experience, although the airbridge has improved, it's touch and go as to whether your flight will be on time! I'd allow at least three hours between. I'm probably over-cautious, but better that than missing the flight completely!

You need to be at the airport here 1.5hrs before your flight (according to my most recent paperwork!).

Hope this helps!
Lisa.
