car rentals

We're off to tobago soon and are being picked up from the airport and taken to our first accommodation by the owner. We don't see the need to have a car on hand the rest of the break, because there's a good chance it won't get used other than the odd trip. So the question is, what's best for that odd trip. Rental car, bus or taxi. All tips most welcome!

Hi Dave, Bethel first, then Parlatuvier and then Castara. As its our first visit I doubt we will be very adventurous. If its as nice as you all seem to paint it, and I'm sure it is. We will most certainly return! and perhaps then travel more around the island. This holiday is just a taster. We have loads more questions on other topics to ask and look forward to correspondence. Hi Mick,Bethel is practically in town,so there are both buses and route taxis available. You could walk to Buccoo but to be honest I would get a route taxi to Mt Irvine,Stone bay etc.
Parlatuviere and Castara well you will need transport there is a bus service which is now fairly reliable but if you need a car for a day I would suggest Taylors in Castara.
Enjoy your visit

it is not much quieter in castara, so you might want to check with taylor's renatl in advance for the on and off days. he seems to be pretty busy these days...
