Hi!
Which beaches do you have to see besides from Pideont Point?

On the 'definite' list (at least MY definite list!!) would be:
Arnos Vale
Bacolet
Castara
Charlotteville (Pirates Bay in particular)...
But, to be honest, there aren't many that AREN'T worth a visit!! Even if it's only to stop for a photo or two! Store Bay is pretty too, but it's not my thing! I prefer the quiet beaches!
Enjoy - I'm sure you will!
Lisa.

Rositsa, assuming that you are adventurous enough to hire a car and drive, if you start from the south-east end of the island, you can at least see the main beaches in a single (busy) day! Otherwise you can do it in two half-day trips. Note that this does not plan for time to stop and take swims at each beach!
The highlight beaches, starting from the Crown Point area at the south-western end, would be Store Bay and Pigeon Point. You then proceed eastward on Milford Road, turning north on Shirvan Road, which will take you past Grange Bay, Mount Irvine Bay, Stonehaven Bay, and Great Courland Bay. If you continue onwards past Plymouth, then you will get to the northern beaches at Arnos Vale, Castara, Englishman's Bay, and Parlatuvier. If that's enough for a day, you can head back to base.
Another time, you can go north-east via the Windward road, seeing the beaches along the southern coastline, eventually getting to Speyside, then crossing over the ridge northwards to Charlotteville and Pirate's Bay. Note that Pirate's Bay is a fair walk from where you park your car in Charlotteville - another good bet is to get a fisherman at Charlotteville to take you around the point to Pirate's Bay.
Those two trips will cover most of what you will want to see. The only main beach that I left out is Canoe Bay, which is very easily accessible by car off the Milford Road, near to the Shirvan Road intersection. You can pass by there on either trip 1 or trip 2. Once you get hold of a Tobago road map, you will be able to match the roads with the beaches I mentioned.
If you would like to cover it ALL in one day, from Parlatuvier you can continue on past L'Anse Fourmi to Charlotteville and Pirate's Bay along the Northside Road, coming back southwards to Speyside, and then heading southwestwards along the Windward Road past Roxborough, Scarborough and back to Crown Point. You would then have circumnavigated the entire island in a day. I've done that before, but IT'S TIRING!
Hope this helps,
Clyde

Hi Rositsa,
If you have not already gone thru Steve's very thorough tour of the Tobago beaches, click on the Out & About Tab to get the pull down menu and then click on the Beaches and Bays.
You have not said how many are in your party and how old they are. So it's hard to recommend the beaches you might like best, but both Lisa and Clyde are giving you good suggestions.
Debby and I like the clean, safe, relatively lightly used "Robinsion Crusoe" type beaches away from the crowds, restaurants, hotels and civilization in general. If that's your cup of tea, then I highly recommend Englishman's Bay and Pirate's Bay.
Englishman's Bay is fabulous but not great for little children because of the steepness of the slope. Also just avoid Eula's little restaurant/shop. See Steve's security/health and safety section for more info if you wish on that subject. The beach is easy to get to by car. There is plenty of parking and lots of shade if you want. Normally you will be one of maybe 10 parties on a half mile of gorgeous beach.
Pirate's Bay is in some ways more stunning, though smaller. It is a small bay within the much larger Man O War Bay. It is about a half mile hike from where you can park your car. The hike begins at the very eastern end of the Charlotteville waterfront. You proceed up a narrow track and then down a seemingly endless length of concrete steps to the beach. Its not a difficult hike if you just take your time and enjoy the views. Pirate's Beach will typically have about as many parties on it as Englishman's, but it is about half the length. If you go to either end of the beach you will literally feel the rain forest hanging over your head. The fishermen are more active coming and going from the beach and the boating in Man O War Bay is much, much more active than in Englishman's Bay. Also the waters are calmer and the beach flatter than Englisman's, so better suited for small children.
Hope this helps. I would like to read about your favorite Tobago beaches upon your return.
Enjoy yourself.

Hi Rosita
The best beaches, for visitors, are on the Caribbean side as the Artlantic side can be rough. But, there are some beaches on the Atlantic too.
Canoe Beach
A privare area so you will have to pay a small fee. The road down to Canoe Beach is bad, but the area at Canoe Beach is very green, a lot of trees and flowers, very few are using the beach, very shallow water. They have beach bar, changing rooms & showers, a nice place to rest and get some nice photos.
Bacolet beach
A small beach near Scarborough, Blue Heaven has a beach bar there but any can use the bar, su chairs only for guests from the hotel. But they have hotel prices, so I use to buy water, soft drinks with me from a small shop on the main road. The beach itself is public. There aren´t any public shhower but mortly one can use the shower at the end of teh storage building. As it´s on the Atlantic side and not protected by a reef, the sand is hard and very dark, The sea can sometimes be rough but there aren´t any stones in the water. It´s a nice beach, but never go outside the edges of the clifs as it can be strong and dangerous currents there. Nice beach for pictures too.
King Bay
Much higher up, north of Roxborough. This beach has a beach bar and changing rooms, very safe and very nice. Very few visitors on this beach.
There are more beaches too on the way up to Roxborough but NOT for swimming as they aren´t safe. But some of them are great for photos.
