Caution - Jazz Festival 2009 dates April 24-26

Even though there has been no advertising so far about the Tobago Jazz Festival 2009, the assigned dates for this event are April 24th-26th. This is very important to note because Tobago has historically been awash with Trinis who come over and take up all the available accommodations during Jazz Festival weekend. This means if anyone was planning to come to Tobago at that same time and have not yet booked their accommodations, they should do so as soon as possible before it becomes impossible.
I will add as a note of caution, that in previous years we would have seen advance adverts by now with respect to the featured artistes for each of the 3 days. That no adverts have been seen yet is possibly a bit ominous, and raises some slight doubt as to whether the 2009 festival will be held at all this year, in light of the economic difficulties being experienced everywhere.
Nevertheless, better safe than sorry. if you were planning to be in Tobago during the third week of April, make sure you have your accommodations locked down as a precaution.
