Suitability of rainforest trip for 8 year old?

Hi Folks!
Great forum - it's helping me get some great ideas and really anticipate a wonderful fortnight. We go to Tobago August 21st and I travel with my almost 8 year old son (he is a seasoned traveller although we have not been in the carribbean/west indies before) He is a passionate watcher of wildlife documentaries and is hugely excited about giant manta rays and leatherback turtles, pirates, parrots etc. etc.
Anyone any experience of the rain forest trips with younger enthusiasts? Or any other kids ideas? Nothing too arduous but I'd love to think he, and I, could get a proper introduction to the real Tobago.
Cheers
Carmel
