5th Summit of the Americas, Inter Island Ferry Service
Posted: Wed Apr 08, 2009 9:36 pm
Due to the closure of the Port of Port of Spain during the summit of the Americas, there will be a reduced ferry service on Apr 17th to Apr 19th.
There will be only one sailing per day of the "T&T Spirit" from Scarborough to Port of Spain and back to Scarborough.
The "T&T Express" will not be in operation on those days.
The same applies to the cargo ferry "Warrior Spirit".
Persons wanting to travel on the "T&T Spirit must have purchased the tickets prior to march 31st
presenting photo ID for security reasons upon purchase of the ticket.
(Which means whoever didn't know about this, it is too late anyway).
The ferry service on those days will be for passengers only, no vehicles.
In other words: It will be impossible to travel between Trinidad and Tobago during the summit on the ferry on "short notice".
If you really have to go, you need to take a flight. And it will be a nightmare to get out of Piarco Airport by public transport.
