Travel in October

My wife and I will be travelling to Tobago in late October. I have visited Trinidad many times but have never made the trip to Tobago.

Last year my wife and I spent our honeymoon in Aruba and I was wondering how the two countries compare? My wife loves to spend time lying on the beach soaking the sun, and my concern is safety...

In addition, we will be staying at the Enchanted Waters Hotel, I have read some good reviews on http://www.wheretostay.com but I was wondering if anyone has stayed at this hotel?

Also, we would like to do some of the activities on the island; horse back riding, Bucco Reef, snorkeling, rainforest tour etc, and I would like to know what would be the best tour organizer to contact. Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Imran G

Hi Imran

I must confess that I’ve never visited Aruba, so any opinion would be based upon hearsay. However, I think I can safely say that Aruba and Tobago are chalk and cheese. Aruba may bear certain similarities to Trinidad, but not Tobago.

I have two main suggestions. Have a good read of our main site and use the Search facility at the top of the page, here in the forum, to search for information on the specific topics you mention. This way you will get a diversity of opinion on where to go/what to do/who to use.

I’ve never stayed at the Enchanted Waters, but their restaurant, Patino’s, is one of our favourites. Very quiet, but I think you’ll like it. A car is fairly essential when staying there though.
