Fares for Cars on Fast Ferry tripled ... and other changes

To my biggest surprise i had to notice recently, that without any big discussion in the media,
the authorities in charge of the inter island ferries have increased the fares as follows:
Fares for cars (number plates with P,H,R) from TT$ 50.- to TT$ 150.00 (one way ticket),
round trip from TT$ 100.00 to TT$ 250.00
The fare for passengers remains TT$ 50.00.
Fares for commercial transport verhicles (number plates with T) remain unchanged.
I refrain from making any comments about the reasons or the effects this may have.
Readers are invited to develop their own opinion.
With immediate effect, tickets for the transportation of vehicles on the ferries can by purchased not only at the
PATT ticket counters in Scarborough and Port of Spain, but also at a number of travel agencies around the country, which will hopefully help to reduce the long lines significantly. I sincerely hope PATT will publish the list of those new points of sale anytime soon on their web site (http://patnt.com)
