Wedding At Coco Reef Tobago

We got married at Coco Reef on 21/7/03 and it was really great. We booked a wedding package through Virgin but I got the impression we could have just arranged it through the hotel-you may want to check out how the prices compare. All the arrangements via Trudy at the hotel went well-the flowers were beautiful and the cake was specially arranged with gluten free flour, that I provided, as I'm a coeliac. The only words of warning the wedding cermony wasn't the same as over here-we didn't have to say "I do", the preacher man preached and then we had to make a small declaration of our love for each other(how sweet!). Also the "services of professional wedding photographer" included within our Virgin package produced a good collection of snaps but don't confuse it with the more traditional photos produced over here. We had a lovely evening after our 4.30 wedding at Pelican Point (the hotel's small pier), with a meal for us and our guests-a total of 10 of us. We were lucky enough to have a good band on that evening and everyone was up and dancing.
If anyone wants any more info just let me know. I would say that whilst we didn't see a lot of Tobago, we just lapped up the sun on the hotel beach, to me the Coco Reef was the best hotel on the island

Congratulations! We have also booked our wedding at the hotel for March 2003 through Virgin. Do you not recommend hiring the photographer ? We still have to choose that option within our package. Did you have any music during the ceremony and is there a hairdresser at the hotel?

Your reply would be greatly appreciated

Although we have no personal experience, while staying at the Coco Reef two years ago one or two guests confirmed that the hairdresser at the hotel was very good and charged reasonable prices. Hope it's still the same. If not, we can highly recommend the Red Door Studio, just a five minute walk up the road (Pigeon Point Road).
