Had a wander to Arnos Vale Bay. Not a lot changed here, snorkelling was as usual great with huge nos of fish. Sea was very warm and the beach deserted.
Appears the hotel is empty and the beach was rather a mess, really could do with someone getting hold of it and returning it to it's former glory.

I will be in Tobago in late Nov. My partner is an experienced snorkeler and takes his gear with him everywhere. I am a land-lubber, preferring to nap in a sunbeam all day, close to "facilities" of course. The cruise ship is offering a shore trip to Club Pigeon Point which sounds 'right' for me, but can he swim out to Buccoo Reef from there? I've seen it listed at "nearby" but don't know how near? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.. swells

Hey,One can swim out to the Buccoo Reef from Pigeon Point but I would'nt recommend it unless your partner is a very experienced, able-bodied swimmer. The swim can take as much as an hour and that is with a favourable tide. Also the lifeguards are within their rights to stop you from going further than the safety buoys placed around Pigeon Point,which are there to prevent boats and watercraft from entering the bathers area. Lastly, the sea can get pretty rough during Nov. and also I don't recommend a lone snorkeller going out on that reef alone...just in case.
