Can you imagine looking for a holiday apartment rental in Cyprus and ending up buying a villa in Tobago? No, well neither could I, but that is exactly what happened to Malcolm and Annie Taylor of London. Malcolm’s fascinating and humorous recount of the event was originally published in the
Sunday Telegraph and then subsequently in the
Tobago News. Malcolm has kindly allowed us to reproduce it here on myTobago and it is available at

What a great story and so indicative of Tobago's spell-binding ability.
Pleasant Prospect is a lovely place to spend some time.
Are Annie and Malcolm thinking of letting their villa out?

You don't fool me. You're interested because staying in Pleasant Prospect will put you next door to Kester Herbert and so you'll have a few more minutes in bed before those early morning fishing ventures.
Yes, they will be renting the villa out. I'm not sure whether it’s ready or not yet, but I added it to our listings within the past two days. The villa is called Tosca and you can enquire/book through Sanctuary Villas or directly with Malcolm & Annie at
[email protected].

Hi Steves
I stayed at one of their neighbours' villas in 2001 and really liked it - the peace of the resort is different from many on the flatter areas of the island(stayed at a 3 bed, 3 bath Bambu Villa - owned by a celebrity, if you think the West Ham goalie Shaka Hislop is a celebrity! He is from Tobago I believe).
Our only criticism then was the distance from any decent facilities, but now that the little mall next to Indigo has come along that would no longer apply. Security is on the gate and wanders around at night too - all in all Sanctuary Villas were a pleasant place to stay.
Regards
Glyn

Those of you who enjoyed Malcolm Taylor's lovely story of how he came to buy a villa on Tobago will enjoy a sequel - The Emerald Lighter - which is available at
http://www.myTobago.info/taylor02.php This was first published on Tobago News a couple of weeks ago, but Malcolm has kindly given me his permission to reproduce it on
myTobago as a little light relief from the serious business or researching one's holiday.
