Hi all,
I am coordinating my sisters wedding and would like some information regarding villas. We are interested in renting two - three villas and having the wedding and reception on the grounds. We want to stay for about 7 - 10 days. The plan is for a family vacation as well a wedding.
My sister wants to get married the second weekend in August (8/14/04). Please let me know of any sites that would allow for such a situation.
Thanks and I look forward to reading everyone's posts.

There are several villa developments which are a possibility, but bearing in mind the romantic nature of the visit, I'm wracking my brains trying to think of somewhere with the right atmosphere and facilities.
My gut instinct is for you to contact Norma Clowes at The Seahorse Inn (
[email protected]). She owns Sandpebbles villa, just a minute walk away and one of a small group of villas owned by the owner of Seahorse and his family - Hawksbill House, Yellowbird and Sandpiper Cottage. I've never visited them personally, but I know them to be lovely villas in a truly wonderful setting. You would have the additional facility of the Seahorse Inn, which is arguably the best and most romantic restaurant on the island. It would make a lovely venue for the wedding and/or the wedding feast.
Food for thought.

Thanks so much for your reply. I will definitely look into the Seahorse Inn and contact her.

My pleasure, Anna. Seeing you still perusing the Wedding forum, you will no doubt have already seen my regular suggestion to contact Marie Dilworth at Tobago Weddings. She still the best on the island - and that not just because she's the ONLY professional wedding planner. It's major grief trying to organise such an important affair from thousands of miles away, so with Marie and Norma at the helm, you could truly sit back and forget about everything, because you really would be in the hands of true professionals.

Hi Anna:
My husband and I were married in Tobago in November 2000. We rented Top O Tobago Villa and the three cabanas that are also on the property. In total we accomodated three couples (in the cabanas and ourselves in the main villa). It is "out in the country" with great views and lots of peace and quiete. Arnos Vale Hotel is about 3 minutes away and can accomodate other guests. We had the wedding and reception at Top O Tobago and it couldnt have been nicer. We had our wedding dinner at Arnos Vale Waterwheel which is a very very nice setting. The owner, Phillip set up a special area for us with lots of candles and flowers. We ordered off the menu and everything was yummy. Mrs. Dow the owner of Top o Tobago helped my find the florist, photographer, caterer for a cocktail reception and wedding cake following the wedding and justice of the peace to do the ceremony. I did everything on my own as far as arrangements and even wrote my own ceremony which the justice of the peace was happy to perform. If you have the time it was pretty easy to arrange everything yourself which was a huge cost savings. I arranged for the florist with a phone call from home and the caterer has an email address. If you would like phone numbers and email addresses for florist, caterer, photographer and justice of the peace I would be glad to look them up and give them to you (they are at home). We are leaving Thursday for 17 days in Tobago so I may have to give you info when we get back.
For our honeymoon we stayed at Hawksbill House in Grafton. The house was very beautiful and along with the other two porperties mentioned could accomodate quite a few people. My only complaint about Hawksbill house is that it was too close to the other houses, which didnt' give us as much privacy as I like or as much privacy as Top O Tobago. Since it wasn't "out in the country" we didn't see nearly as many birds and there were not nearly as many flowers, but these are my only minor gripes! Hope this helps.

My son got married last year in Tobago. I lived in Trinidad but I am from Ireland so we needed accommodation for all the guests about fifty who came from abroad. We choose Sandy Point because it was near the airport. It accommodated all the guests. The meal was good. they were married in a church in Scarborough. It also allowed all the guests to 'do their own thing' after the wedding as it convenient to all places in Tobago. I now live in Tobago and if you wish to contact me I could offer suggestions.
