Boat trips with a toddler?

Hello,
We will have our 2 year old with us in Tobago, and wondered if there were any of the boat trips where he won't be 'frowned upon'?
He is an easy going and well behaved little boy, but having been on lots of day cruises in the West Indies ourselves before we had him, we wanted to choose one that was suitable for us to have fun but where our son is welcome!
Thank you!
Lisa

Hi Lisa
The island is very children-friendly, in the sense that I can't see any tours, excursions or restaurants, etc., frowning or refusing. However, safety is clearly a potential issue on any sailing so you will naturally be expected to to keep your child secure at all times. I'm not sure whether they would have lifejackets for such a youngster. My advice would be to use the contact facility in our watersports/excursions pages to contact any of the tour services you are interested in and ask them. You could also contact Yes Tourism, who act as reservation agents for all the decent water-based excursions. They may well know.

Thanks again Steve for your superfast replies and information. He already has his own life jacket so we'll take it with us.

The catamaran would be fine - Mystic Girl. Very child friendly, been on it a few times with toddlers aboard. Large area to shade them and staff more than happy to play parent while you snorkle. That said it does take a few hours so maybe too long for your little one ?
PS Anyone that has a well behaved 2 year old has my total respect .Sudden thought, rules may have changed as we haven't done it for a couple of years. Worth checking out though - the lunch provided is great by the way !

Hi Lisa,
We had the most wonderful day on Cocomotion today. Collected us at 10am from Arnos Vale Bay and we motored north to Little Tobago were we stopped for a snorkel, the odd rum punch, Carib and water melon. Then motored into Speyside where we anchored and went for a wonderful lunch at Gemma's TreeHouse. Service was great and food was really tasty from curried fish to creole shrimp and sweet and sour shrimp with the most wonderful ginger.
Marlon eventually managed to get us back on the boat and we headed back to Arnos Vale stopping at many of the coves and beaches on the way for snorkelling, swimming and liming. Of the eight on board i am the only one awake at 7pm. All pleasantly shattered after a wonderful day's entertainment with the ever professional and great host Marlon on Cocomotion.
Not sure if this what you are after Lisa, but Marlon is certainly worth a call as he is happy to tailor trips to your needs and wishes, you won't be disappointed.
