Snorkeling the Caribbean Side

Hi Everyone,

Wife and I will be staying on the Atlantic side at Half Moon Blue on Bacolet Bay for five days next month, and would like to spend one day cruising the Caribbean side and stopping to snorkel at a few choice spots. We're of retirement age and don't booze or barbecue until evening so have no desire for a Splash or Island Girl type cruise. We don't want to charter our own boat, and certainly have no problem going out with a few other like-minded folks. Should we just ask the folks at our hotel for recommendations or are there some snorkeling operators who would pick us up at the hotel and give us the cruise/ snorkeling experience we're looking for at a reasonable rate?

Thanks!

Michael

Hello Michael,

Arnos Vale Hotel has a free public beach where the reef comes to within a few feet of the beach. You will have to walk down a wide path from the parking lot. The snorkeling is great, some say the best.

Please read other notes about this spot on the website. There has been some discussion about someone trying to limit access but there really are no private beaches in Tobago.

Enjoy, Hugh 8)

Thanks Hugh!

Certainly have read lots about Arnos Vale and a few other Caribbean spots as well. What we need, though, is someone who will pick us up at Half Moon Blue in Bacolet, and then "sail" us up the Caribbean coast a bit to visit Arnos and any other snorkeling spots worth hitting. And we don't want the kind of booze & barbecue experience that Splash and Island Girl provide. Any recommendations for whom to contact?

Thanks again!

Michael
