Is this feasible?

Hi, My family (husband and 2 young children) are coming to Tobago in a bit over a week. We are flying in at 2:30 to POS airport and have plans to go to a Children's Home located in Arima (which I have been told is close to the airport) by taxi to take them some donations. We would like to be able to get back to the airport and catch one of the later flights (guessing around 8:30 flight) to Tobago.
To all of you who have traveled around there before does this sound possible. We really don't want to spend the night in Trinidad because we only have 6 days for this trip.
I am thinking customs will take about 1 hour, traveling to Children's home may take 45 min...so that would put us there at 4:30ish? We could take 1.5 hours there and then be back at airport by 7:00? Any feedback?
Also...a side question, the weather look really raining as I have been watching it. Does the sun still come out for a lot of the day? Has it been unseasonably cloudy/raining lately? Nothing I can do about it I know, but just pray and cross fingers...
This site is really great by the way...thanks! We are staying at Boatview in Castara...can't wait!
