UK Driving licence requirements.

Hello,

I can only find the card part of my driving licence...... no idea what I've done with the paper counterpart! I didn't need it in other Caribbean islands, but wondered if anyone had been asked for it in Tobago? We are renting with Sheppy.
Have dropped him a message but thought this might get a quicker response.

Thanks!

Lisa

Hi Lisa
Never been asked for the counterpart. Don't think anyone knows where theirs is ! I certainly don't.

I have rented cars from several companies over the years and have never been asked for the paper part of the licence. Also, police checks at road blocks are common in Tobago and the police have always been happy with my licence card. Always though check that you have the insurance from the rental company and that it is valid as the police are 'hot' on this, it is your responsibility to check that the car you are driving has a valid certificate.
