Well here we are in miami and we were due to be flying to Tobago this afternoon however we came back to our room today and found our suitcases stolen one of which had one of passports inside and also a fair bit of cash.

I have been trying to ring Derek Lopex "Porridge" who was going to be picking us up this evening and taking us to Castara Retreat but having problems calling him, we also have a car booked via Yes tourism which also needs to be cancelled.

We have also now discovered that we need to go to Washington to get the new passport and thats going to take some organising. thank goodness for credit cards!

I would be hugely grateful if someone perhaps Yes tourism if looking in could call Derek to tell him not to wait at the airport and also to cancel the car while I continue to arrange flights to Washington etc. etc. etc.

I was so looking forward to going to Tobago, but not this time it seems...

Hy Lynda

What a bummer! That says everything about Miami. I saw that happen to somebody else in our hotel the last time I was there.

OK, I've rung Tanja at Yes Tourism and she's going to contact "Porridge" and Sheppy. She'll post a message, I'm sure, but I think she wants you to email her direct when you know when and if you'll make it down.

Fingers crossed for you.

Dear Linda

sorry to hear about your experiences in Miami. (Sorry to say but I have never liked that city). Thanks Steve again for calling. In the meantime I have spoken to Porridge and informed him about what happened. I promised to call him again when I have further news from you as to when you might be coming. I have also spoken to Sheppy's Car Rental. The car was just getting ready for you guys tomorrow (cleaning etc.), it's also put off for now.

Good luck in Miami and please get back to us if we can be of any further assistance.

Steve,

many thanks for doing this for us, unfortuantley the reviews I had hoped to send in won't be this time, maybe next year!

Tanja,

It sems it is going to take at least 5 days to get a new passport from Washington and so until then we are "captive" on US soil with no way to get to Tobago, so it's not to be this time. If you could let Sheppy's and Porridge know I'd be very grateful.

Many thanks again for your help!

Lynda

Dear Linda

have forwarded your information to both Sheppy and Porridge. Hope to see you next year, it's such a pity, they take 5 days to issue a passport..... nevertheless, all the best for XMAs and a happy new year to you guys.
