Has Tobago changed a lot?

Hi
Going to Tobago this year for the second time, we were last there in 2003, and I wondered how much it has changed in the last 8 years?
Last time we stayed at the Rex Turtle so this time we decided to rent a villa. Will that make a difference too?

Welcome aboard!
You will find a very considerable difference between Tobago in 2003 and now; some of it good and some of it bad. The biggest difference you will notice is the increase in traffic and number of cars - and the increase in the number of smart new houses everywhere. You will also find a huge difference between staying in a rental property and at somewhere like the Turtle Beach Hotel - and all for the positive. Whilst it can be nice to relax and be pampered in a good hotel for a few days, the limitations make it a no-choice option to me. I'm sure you will have a brilliant holiday, despite the changes.
