Actually, this is Kathy's husband writing. I believe that theattention given to Miss Jemma's in Speyside is too much. In our experience, the restaurant next door to Jemma's, Redman Simple, is the equivalent in terms of food quality and much superior in terms of service--Miss Jemma's takes a decade to serve.

Both are great restaurants, but don't think that Jemma's is the only place in Speyside.

You are so right. To be honest, I have long considered Jemma's over-commercialised and too much of a tourist trap. It's tolerable if you get there outside peak hours, but once the mini-coaches start arriving it's everything I want to get away from.

As a matter of interest, I have received a number of good reports about dining at the Speyside Inn. A little more sophisticated than the simple Creole food of Jemma's or Redman Simple, but well worth a visit if you are in the Speyside area.

We found it nearly impossible to eat out in Speyside on Sunday night -everywhere was closed - ended up going over the hill to Charlotville.

Breakfast at Jemmas Kitchen was disappointing. Other people had warned us about the surley service and they were right - no tip here.The Birdwatchers and Redmans got much better praise from those that we met who had used them.
