Rex Turtle Beach Hotel

Having just returned (1 week ago today) from our first visit to Tobago, we cannot wait to return. My husband & I stayed at the Rex Turtle Beach Hotel (as recommended by fellow traveller John Hill) and had the most amazing time. The hotel is simple, the new pool is an excellent addition, but very friendly. The food on offer is of a very hign quality. We did choose to eat out a couple of times (Meshells & The Seahorse are excellent) but only to experience the local cuisine. The hotel is ideally situated right on the beach, what a lovely view to wake up to each day. It was an ideal location from which to travel. If like us you prefer to be on the sea rather than in a taxi then approach a local fisherman called Stumpy (alias Tuna Man). Do not be put off by his name or his boat, he is a genuine guy who will take you anywhere you wish to go, without any hidden costs. Having explored either on land or below sea, the Turtle Beach was always a welcoming place to return to, especially the Poolside Bar where the staff were in party mood.
