The Ciao Cafe' in Scarborough (an offspring of La Tartaruga restaurant) is now offering aperitifs and wines besides their home made ice cream and italian coffee specialities. You can now sit outside as well and watch the buzz of downtown Scarborough. Very nice on a friday afternoon when everybody is in town.

The food was nice but served at typical Italian temperature..... cool. Fruit juice was lovely and the ice creams looked tempting but we didn't try.

We had ice creams there and they were lovely, the cappacino's were great too, it is a little oasis in the hustle and bustle of Scarborough, it is definately a place to visit when there.

Dear Folks--
Where in Scarborough is Ciao Cafe located?

Hi Joanne
It’s at the bottom of Burnett Street.
If you stand at the bottom of the hill, facing the ferry terminal with Kentucky Fried Chicken behind you (where it should be), turn left and walk along the shoreline. You will pass the main branch (???) of RBTT bank. Avoid the right fork and keep walking alongside the shops on the left. The road starts to go uphill, then forks left and right. Ciao Café will be directly facing you between at the junction of the three roads.
Well worth a visit.

Hi Steve,
little correction, the bank is not RBTT, it is Sctiabank RBTT's main branch is uptown close to the corner of Bacolet street.

Go and have some icecream. This is not a suggestion, but an order from your taste buds. We passed by once and decided to drop in, and then we had to make special trips to Scarborough just for it after that. The only bad thing was that we only found it three days before we flew back, though I suppose it saved us putting on too much weight

FOLLOW THE ORDER!
the ice cream is a dream (and funny enough cheaper than some local ice creams...?!) and all cafe latte junkies are in the right place there.
the aircondition is cooling you down a good level already. perfect for a hot day....
maybe we meet there....soon...and often....
