Coasting Villa - Reader Reports & Opinion

In March of 2006, we made our first visit to Cindy and Fred’s brand new vacation home aptly named “Coasting, Tobago”. We had already made two other visits to their first sensational rental property in Tobago. Once again, Cindy and Fred have designed and built an oasis of peace, fun and luxury living, carved out of a lush rain forest with unbelievable 360 degree views, overlooking an exquisite sand beach, which is virtually private.

Tobago weather always feels perfect and we enjoyed it thoroughly, from the plunge pool, alfresco dining area, the large outdoor deck overlooking the water and of course the decadent experience of an “outdoor shower”. That is not to be missed! Let’s not forget the beach – warm, warm water with soft sand underfoot and drinks in the cooler!!

We don’t like to do much for ourselves on vacation and Cindy and Fred arranged for us to engage the services of a local chef who prepared and delivered superb meals right to our door. She also drives by every Saturday with a selection of home made exotic ice creams that we purchased right from freshly made tubs in her car!

In addition we had access to a local driver who took us to and from some fine dining experiences in the town of Scarborough. Other than breakfast that we prepared in the fully equipped kitchen, we were laziness personified. I expect that those wanting more adventure would not be disappointed either, Cindy and Fred leave extensive guidebook material and information for those who want an active vacation. Great reading for armchair warriors like us!!

Thanks Cindy and Fred! We will be back!!

Kelly & Martin D from Canada visited in January 2006 and awarded  Five out of Five

Although we are writing this review in the Spring of 2006, we have had the pleasure of being guests at “Coastings” four times over the past three years; most recently in Jan/Feb of this year.

Why have we waited so long to file a report? Coastings is simply an idyllic location that brings to life the true nature and beauty of Tobago and we have selfishly wanted to keep that to ourselves.

We can’t hold it in any longer... if you are looking for a once-in-a-lifetime holiday or simply want to recapture the Caribbean as it once was, then Coastings should be at the top of your list.

This is the second guest villa built by your hosts Cindy and Fred and their experience shows. Your visit can be as adventure-filled or as relaxing as you want to make it. We are especially fond of hiking the traces and rivers surrounding the 5 acre property as well as enjoying everything the waters of Bloody Bay beach have to offer. C & F have thought of everything including a wonderfully complete personal guidebook listing local restaurants, hiking trails as well as details only a local would know...perfect.

We have often wondered as we have lazed away perfect afternoons on the deck...When we leave Tobago are we returning to “civilization” or are we leaving it behind; at Coasting?

Look for Kelly & I next time you visit Bloody Bay; we will be the ones body surfing at the beach, usually just before sunset...

Bloody Bay And Coasting Villa

We are thinking of staying at Bloody Bay's Coasting Villa in December. The place looks absolutely lovely. Other than the current posts provided and information currently out on the internet, does anyone have any other input about the beach there and/or the Coasting villa? How are the bay and beach views from the house? Can you hear the waves from the home? How's the beach for lounging and swimming? If anyone has pictures from the house and willing to share, we'd love to see them. Any positive and negative input is very appreciated. Thank you!

Just back from two weeks staying at Coasting and it has been one of our best family holidays ever. The villa is excellent and the ground and location beautiful. I can not recommend it too highly to anybody looking for a holiday away from it all.

A slight word of caution if you are looking for any kind of night life the only sort around the villa are the night creatures not the party animals and you will need a car to get about. Having said that the North of the island has a real get back to nature feel usually not found whist staying in a villa providing such a high standard of accommodation.

My only regret is that we didn't book for three weeks not just two.
