Petit Careme Villa - Reader Reports & Opinion

Guest Report

Ria LeeKing from Trinidad visited in December 2005 and awarded  Five out of Five

My family and I stayed at this Villa from Boxing day for 7 nights. We were thrilled with the accomodation. Firstly, the maintenance of this house is so well done. Everything works perfectly down to the shower heads!! The Villa is spotlessly clean. The sheets and towels smelled fresh, crisp, new and clean! You can walk barefoot on the floors and won't see a trace of dirt. Everthing looks new as if the place were just built. The kitchen has everthing you need and more.

The lush views and the beautiful birds - and no bird mess!?

The rooms are spacious escpecially the downstairs bedroom and having two bathrooms upstairs - one for each bedroom (3 full bathrooms in all) and a 1/2 (toilet and sink) - somehow this adds to the private luxury of the whole thing.

Charmaine - the housekeeper is pretty, soft spoken but efficient. She made fabulous oildown and stew chicken for us and her presence is so unintrusive that you don't know she is there (housekeepers can really get annoying and in the way sometimes when you are on vacation and tend to really interrupt things. But not her).

Security, which is a real concern when vacationing in Tobago now - is provided there on the compound and this lady really walks about.

Ten out of ten - The very best place I have stayed in Tobago and the Caribbean. Absolutely worldclass luxury! Not overdone but not to be outdone!

Petit Careme   02 May 2005

My wife and I have been guests at Petit Careme. The Villa is delightful and the maid, Charmaine, keeps the place beautifully - just like the way she prepares food! All together a place we would highly reccommend staying in for its peace and tranqulity. Villas on the Green is a delightful haven right on the Mount Irvine golf course (well, alongside the 11th tee!)

Great Holiday

From the moment we arrived there Petit Careme was the perfect family villa for our stay. Charmaine Black, our maid, cooked up a lovely dish of chicken and rice for our first meal, and from then on her daily cleaning was completed efficiently and she was always polite and helpful. Many mornings we were woken early by the cheerful cry of the national bird, the Cocrico, and we could sit on the balcony enjoying the beautiful view over the garden while the many birds came to the feeders. The Mot-Mot and the cheeky Bananaquits were particular favourites.

The kitchen provided everything we needed – the huge fridge and ice-maker were welcome - and we had several barbecues on the terrace, in the cool of the evening.

We found the three en-suite bedrooms very spacious and comfortable. All the rooms were equipped with fans to keep us cool at night, so we didn’t need the air conditioning. In each bedside table we found a mosquito repellent which was very helpful; before we discovered these we had a few bites.

We spent many hours enjoying the communal pool in the gardens, but the villa also has a small plunge pool where we could cool down and escape from the heat. Fortunately it is also hidden from the sunlight for most of the day, so it is perfect if you are getting sunburnt and want to be outdoors but out of the sunlight.

Being Mad English we enjoyed the walk across the golf course to get to Mount Irvine beach, where we enjoyed swimming in the surf, snorkelling on the reef close buy – and we made friends with the roti lady for our mid-day snacks.
