Hello all
Well we are now back from a wonderful holiday to Kenya and the weather was great with only a couple of showers to help keep the dust down.

David
There are some villas north of Mombasa at Malindi called Silversands and maybe the place you used to stay, we were staying on the south coast so did not visit them.

As I said the main reason for the holiday was to take our grandson and he really loved it both at the hotel on the coast and also on the safari which was the highlight for all of us especially at Galdessa Camp in Tsavo park which is a truly luxury camp located on the banks of the Galdana river. We were sitting on the veranda of our banda and a bull elephant callled Tusker (its also the name of the local beer) walked only 15 feet from us and strolled down to the river.

We also visited an extremely good orphanage called the Diani Childrens village where 23 orphaned and neglected children are looked after in the nearest thing they can get to a family environment its a wonderful place.

I only logged on once during the holiday as we had so much to do so I spent a good hour the other day catching up on the news especially Carols, we have friends who own a narrowboat so we also enjoy some time on the canals with them.

For anyone who is interested I have an album showing 500 photos (sorry but I am always snap happy) to look at on

but I do not expect anyone to want to view them all.

I need to plan my next trip back to Tobago as we have some friends who want to visit for the first time but sadly we will have to wait until January 2009 as its the Orang Utans in Sarawak next year as Leita has the mothering instinct and has always wanted to see them.

Regards

Paul,
Glad to hear you had such a good time. I'm quite jealous! It must have been a thrill for your grandson.
May I welcome you back to the fold on behalf of all the brethren. I'm thinking of designing a secret handshake....
Cheers
Carolnoe
