Hi David

Rather sad, I'm afraid - so keep your fingers crossed. Just 20 tickets issued so far this month. Come on folks. By my reckoning there are still some 42 worthwhile prizes available and just two more draws of three winners each month to go.

Roll up! Roll up! Roll up!

There are just seven days left to the close of the 2006 myTobago competition. There are still about 30 wonderful prizes to choose from and just 22 tickets have been issued so far this month. So, come on, show your support for myTobago and stand a REAL chance of winning a really worthwhile meal, excursion, diving trip or car rental for your next trip to Tobago.

Sales pitch over!

Dear Steve,

I will do but I'm a little bit afraid to win again  Because I would feel guilty to take all the prizes.

... on the other side.... when I go there with my friends in February it would be nice to have a nice (and cheap) dinner at Marguerite's....

Well, lets try again and I hope you will sell some more ticktes.

Cheers

Hi Gisela

Don't feel guilty. You have probably been our most faithful and regular contributor to the prize draw so my fingers will be crossed for you.

Thank you Steve and good luck for you also, Alex.

Steve, for me it is like beeing a bit in Tobago when I read and write in this forum. So it is much more worth than the few pounds I spend.

Go on with this like before and a very happy and healthy new year to you and Jill.

Congrats to everyone that took home a prize this month. Sadly i didn't :? But hey, better luck next time maybe?

I have a question though... Ok presume I buy another ticket for the draw next month and I win. How fast can I actually "cash in" on that prize? I'm staying on Tobago from jan 23rd - feb 7th.

Thanks in advance! 8)

Hi Maja

Prizes can often be arranged virtually overnight. However, they are allocated in the order in which the prizes are drawn - so, we can't confirm the second or third place winner until the first-place winner has chosen, or the third place price until the second has chosen.

With this in mind, I would like to offer my sincere thanks to the December winners. Third-place winner, Johanna from Finland, is going to Tobago next week. The first and second place winners were not quite ready to make a final decision on which prizes they are going to choose, but were happy to forfeit any right to the prize that Johanna wanted and so allowed me to allocate the prize immediately. The prize was an excusion on Island Girl and Heidi of Island Girl confirmed by return of mail - so the prize was all arranged within 24 hours of the draw.

There's one big problem though, Maja - the competition has now ended. There will be no further draws. I am expecting to launch a new competition around May though. Sorry!

The 2006 myTobago Competition has now closed. A new competition will be launched in April/May 2008.

Steve - did you mean 2007? - Alex

Ah! I see you are referring to the banner message on the competition pages. Sorry about that. Yes, I do mean 2007 and have corrected the banners. Silly old fool!

why has the competition closed?

Hi Belqaid

Welcome to the forum!

Why has the competition closed? Well, the businesses that have donated all these wonderful prizes obviously don't want an open-ended arrangement. Secondly, I leave for two months in Tobago at the start of February and with the terrible Internet connections/speed over there, won't be available to liaise with prize winners and organise their prizes, etc.

So, what happens is that I now claim all the unclaimed prizes for my coming trip (I wish!!!!) and then after I return at the end of March, I will contact all the firms involved and invite them to participate in a new competition. There is an awful lot of organisation involved and it takes a few months to get everything sorted, so my best guess is that it will probably start mid-May - which is when I started the last competition.

As a matter of interest to everyone, we issued a total of 425 tickets across the entire competition run last year. 24 prizes worth of US$5,500 were issued. Good thing I didn't have to buy the prizes at face value or I would have lost a fortune!!!!!!

Anyway, my sincere thanks to all the suppliers who showed their support and donated prizes.
