Odd question

I hope that this isn't considered a morbid question, but I read that the guy who lived in a cave at Arnos Vale passed away recently.

I spoke to him several years ago on our first visit and found him to be a very peaceable man. He had lived in the cave for over 20 years and was somewhat of a hermit, although he could often be seen on the local beaches selling his tied and dyed sarrongs.

Does anyone know if this is the same guy in this photo?

My appologies to him if it isn't.

Cheers

Hello Steve,

I don't know if this man is the man that lived in the cave, but up until a week or so ago (8th April to be precise) the man in the photo was still on Pigeon Point beach selling his sarrongs. I also have a photo.

Best wishes

Thanks Caron

Surely not the same man then.
I think the chap from Arnos Vale died around a month ago, according to reports in the Tobago News.

I was at Arnos Vale beach last weekend for some snorkeling, but did not see the man you speak of, nor did I hear anything about him.

Hi, never havng been to Tobago (yet) can't really comment. :( but did see the posting. It would appear that this man had lived for a number of years in a cave and was well known in the area, Hopefully he is still alive and kicking,
see you in about 5 DAYS!!!! :D :D

odd question

Having returned from Tobago this morning, I can answer your question. The gentleman who sadly died was known as "Shieva" or "Swammy", an indian gentleman who worked with Henry the leather man on Turtle Beach. He was a lovely person and Henry said that it would have been his wish to have died that way, being no trouble to anyone as he was a very private person.
