Air Travel: Trinidad-Tobago Airbridge
A guide to airline services between Trinidad and Tobago
Caribbean Airlines have operated the airbridge between Trinidad (Piarco International Airport, Port of Spain) and Tobago's Crown Point airport from Monday 1st October 2007. The previous service was provided by Tobago Express, a division of BWIA.
Tickets
for the 25-minute flight cost TT$300 (US$50) per person
return, or TT$150 (US$25) one-way. Children under 12
years of age enjoy a 50% discount.
Air bridge tickets can be purchased online and through travel agents, etc. Alternatively, visitors can continue to arrange airbridge flights via www.yes-tourism.com, who also provide additional services such as airport transfers, accommodation reservations, tours and a highly-rated car rental brokerage service.
Airbridge flights are on a single-class Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft. The flight duration is 25 minutes and visitors are advised to allow a minimum connecting time of 20 minutes for domestic flights and one hour for international flights.

Check-in time for the 20-25 minute flights is one and a half hours before the flight. This seems excessive for an internal flight, but who are we to argue? If you haven't checked in within 20 minutes of your flight, you are highly likely to lose your seat to a standby passenger.
Visitors travelling to Tobago via Trinidad and arriving on international flights after 7:00pm stand little or no chance of being able to catch a flight over to Tobago that day. Attempts to do so are likely to be both unsuccessful as well as being highly stressful. We strongly recommend such visitors to overnight in Trinidad and make a more leisurely transfer to Tobago the following morning. Information on overnight accommodation in Trinidad is available here.
