I own the brahmabhuta guesthouse in trinidad; i had sent a group of suriname visitors to stay in 2 apartment units at bananaquit; three days before christmas i had also booked an apartment at bananaquit for my wife and 3 kids; I was asked by the management to make the payment at republic bank in trinidad. I made the full payment for the suriname group for the 2 apts i had booked as well as our apt; I called rachel (the manager-owner) and told her i made the full payment; Lo and behold when my suriname group arrived one day before myself and my family i was embarassed by rachel who informed my suriname guests that she did not get any payment? i was totally ashamed and it gave me a very bad name because rachel MUST have some way of checking with her bank to see that the payment was made; When i arrived the morning on the 22 nd december i told her i wanted the payment issue sorted out immediately; She then informed me she had received the payment; But it was too late because when i arrived i found my suriname guests looking at me very funny; I had 5 members in my family and only 2 towels in the unit; Not until after one and a half days the maid brought towels for us and apologized. The cable TV was not working the first day and the few channels thereafter were in spanish!!except the news channel.

My husband, 5 year old son and I visited Bananquit in August 2011, this is not where we had originally planned to stay but due to circumstances beyond our control we had no other choice. We got the Villa Apt. It was not what I had expected a Villa to be, the furniture was old and out-dated and not even a dining table where a meal could be shared properly although there was one on the patio, it smelled old and terribly sweaty. The patio has a nice view and can be utilised on a cool evening but this was made impossible by the old, smelly run-down furniture outside as well. We encountered a few problems such as no water when my child was in the middle of taking a bath. We had to wait app. 30 minutes for the pump to be turned on. The bathroom shower needs to be fixed because it splashes water all outside the shower curtain. When you're finished bathing water is everywhere, there are no proper mats throughout the house. The bed sheets, towels,and furniture needs to be upgraded ASAP. They have seen better days. The kitchen was my favourite of all because it allowed me some good enough utensils as I had brought a lot of my own from home hence the reason I made sure secured parking would be available for my car. There is no proper parking available there and you may have to park on the street. One morning around 8 there were loud knocking sounds on our door for us to come move our car. Who wants to be bothered when you're on a VACATION. Then the owner would have the audacity to tell me parking is not guaranteed. I had made sure parking was secured as this was the first time I was going to Tobago with my car. On the second day there was a problem with us being double booked with someone else we were offered a lot smaller place with less space and did not worth the price of the Villa. We did not agree to that so we stayed at the Villa. On the second to last day of our stay there we went out and upon returning we turned on the A/C (1 which is used to facilitate the entire Villa) was not working. We informed Management and the owner was nice enough to walk the entire building with my husband trying to find suitable accommodations for us for the night until the repairman came to fix it in the morning. We got a good room to stay for the night and she even brought us an extra mattress for our son. These hiccups did not disappoint much though as the location near to Store Bay made all of these problems seem minor.

The apartment was quite nice and comfortable. I liked the fact that it was very near the airport and was walking distance from Store Bay beach and a few restaurants. The nearby manll is also accessible by taxi or bus. A very satisfied customer!

I stayed at the Bananaquit. It was not what I expected - nothing close to what I viewed online. The surroundings were not well kept. The entrance was not attractive and enless mosquitoe! I had to spend the night on the soft because I couldn't sleep and wanted to watch T.V. since there were no T.V in the bedrooms. Also, I had to leave the car in the road. However, the location was good.

I took almost a year before making a contribution. May 2011 I and four other adult female stayed in a two bedroom apartment. The best feature we liked was the space. The upstairs loft bedroom had a double bed and a single bed. The downstairs bedroom had two single beds.One of my sister and her adult daughter shared the double bed and the rest of us had our own bed. The location was close to everything and walking distance to the beach. Parking was howevery very limited and on our arrival after a lot of traffic because it was a holiday weekend we were left standing waiting for the manager to return. It was only after we complained to her husband of the long wait and having no where to sit he contact her by phone and we were shown to our apartment. But I will stay there again because of the location and the spacy apartment
