Birdie's Nest - Reader Reports & Opinion

I cannot find any reason for not giving Birdie's Nest the highest possible ratings. Unfortunately, the ratings are limited, with only "5" being the highest. This place was beyond expectation. It was very clean and excellently maintained. Located just upon the water front in Black-Rock, I was so amazed at the radiance projected by the rising sun. The swimming pool overlooks the ocean and life couldn't be any better when myself and wife took our early morning dip, or a late night splash. I spent 7 days of my honeymoon at Birdie's Nest and it was so nerve rocking that we did not spend my entire honeymoon there, unfortunately we already had prior arrangements. The owner's son, "Prince" services and maintains the property. He is a very remarkable individual. He went beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and that our needs were met. He provided free transportation to and from the airport, and ensured we picked up foodstuff on arrival before reaching the premise. Birdie's Nest is a home away from home. I will always visit this place if I ever have to visit Tobago. Life at this place cannot get any better.

I had the pleasure of staying at Birdie's nest with my husband and my daughter in April 2013 for Easter vacation.
I tell you its the nicest place to stay when you go to Tobago, but you have to book early seeing that the place is getting more and more popular.
I stayed there for three nights and I didnt want to leave, the place has a breathtaking view of the Sea.
It is very private, comfortable and home away from home feeling.
The apartments are very clean and tastefully done.
The pool is one of the most beauiful pool I have ever seen.
I am so glad that I found this place on the internet and decided to go there and I look forward to going year after year after year.
The owner of the property Prince, is such a cool and warm person, as well as his mother
I must say I really enjoyed staying at Birdie's nest.

We had a really nice stay at Birdie´s nest during our vacation time. The guesthouse is in a really good condition.
We stayed in apartment no. 2 on the ground floor. The apartments are quite big for two persons and the kitchen offers everything you need to cook. Also there is a BBQ you can use, Prince will organize coal if needed.
One of the best points of Birdie´s Nest is the location next to the beach. It is almost like sitting on the beach, because it is so close. Also the pool area is new, very clean and gives you the opportunity to have a nice time, if you don´t want to go around.
The apartment itself is also very clean and Prince changes towels etc. once a week (or more if wanted).
We had a great time there and a lot of fun with Prince. So we will come again on our next holiday to tobago.

I found Birdie's Nest when I was researching places to stay in Tobago and I was looking for something close to the beach, I read all the reviews I could find and decided to contact the owner by email as instructed on the web site. I immediately got back a response from Prince and he was very professional and polite answering all my questions and was very accommodating with transport to and from the airport and to the supermarket to get what I may need for my stay, I thought to myself that this is the place for me. When I arrived at Birdie's Nest I was in awe, the place is immaculate, beautiful, warm and welcoming just like its owners. The beach is just a skip and a jump away, the pool is breathtaking looking out at the sea. My apartment was so relaxing and homey. I truly enjoyed the shower in my apartment (you would need to feel it for yourself to understand mmmm). There are food places available for delivery or you can walk or drive to get what you want to eat if you are like me and wanted nothing to do with cooking, or you can cook in your apartment if that's your thing. Prince has his own personal very easy map available for you if you need to get around. Birdie's Nest is very close to a beautiful fort, about a 5 minute walk on the beach where you can go sit and read or just enjoy the beautiful view and the fabulous breeze. Prince was a wonderful host I had the pleasure of seeing Tobago through his eyes and I could tell how much he loves his home because I wanted to move to Tobago when he was done showing me around and telling me about all the events (especially the goat race smile) that goes on throughout the year. I also had the pleasure of meeting his wonderful hardworking Mother Ms. Princess Robinson who helps Prince take care of Birdie's Nest. I would recommend Birdie's Nest to anyone who wants a real piece of Tobago at a great rate in a wonderful community of wonderful people. Just don't book my time when I am ready to go back.

Birdie’s Nest, Tobago
“Prince”, our friendly and helpful host aims to offer his guests “perfection”, and in the Tobago setting, he is there. This report confirms all the positives in the other “My Tobago” reports, but adds a final thought as a challenge to the danger of complacency!
We have just come to the end of 2 blissfully relaxed and comfortable weeks, in which we self catered and chose not to use car hire, so we challenged the facilities and the locale of Black Rock to their fullest extent.
The 100% positives include the infinity pool with its silky water, the endless supply of piping hot water, the comfortable bed, and the peace of the complex and its surrounds overlooking a deserted beach. The feeders in the garden brought many of Tobago’s birds to the doorstep. The apartment was immaculately clean and well provided, including TV and radio with BBC channels.
Prince provides his own map to Black Rock which locates shops and places to eat and drink which we found indispensable during our first days. We enjoyed one meal out at Fishpot. The basic food stuffs are to be had in Black Rock, but we found it necessary to take the bus to Scarborough for extra “variety”.
We also took the bus to Charlottesville which is a long and winding drive, and did not seem to offer any more attractive beaches or views than the one at the bottom of the garden, or in Stonehaven Bay.
So, to close. Our final thought.....the kitchen needs a lime crusher for our Rum Punches! Prince has promised this will be supplied.
