My group visited Courland Bay Apartment in March of this year and we were satisfied with the accommodations provided. The apartment was clean and Prince Robinson, the caretaker ensured that our stay was an enjoyable one. We had a minor hiccup with a malfunctioning air conditioning unit which Mr. Robinson quickly dealt with. All in all the bare bones budget apartment

lived up to what was expected. A clean place to rest your head without all the thrills.

We stayed at the Courland Bay Apartment in March of 2014 for a week. We had a lovely stay overall in Tobago for five weeks with great hospitality from the locals but the manager at Courland bay was something beyond the average. He did that little extra to make sure that we were more than happy. The guesthouse is managed by a man called Prince and his mother Princess which also lives on the top floor of the building. So basically, we ended up renting the basement of their private house. It was far from the most modern place that we stayed in but I can honestly say that is was the cleanest. My wife and I traveled with our 10 month old baby that crawled around on all the floors so clean floors was important for us. In addition the place was very large and all the bedrooms had A/C. It is very noticeable that the apartment is well planned in terms of what you need in a guesthouse and the kitchen was without a doubt the best equipped of all 6 places we stayed. Here we drank freshly brewed coffee, filters included  However, be careful with your food. Ants can invade quickly.

Location wise, it is very close (45 sec) to a Courland Bay beach where the Birdies Nest guesthouse is located. It is also very close to another beach called Stonehaven which we liked better. It took us about 7 min to walk to Stonehaven, carrying a baby. Otherwise, if you are staying in Black Rock I would recommend renting a car (Prince also rents cars and has great prices) due to the fact that there are not so many restaurants and other excursions close by. In addition a Pennysavers is quite close by, but not walking distance, so with a car you can get your own supplies. If you decide to rent a car, Courland Bay is a very good place to stay and to have as a basecamp to reach different places on the island.

To sum up. Courland Bay Apt. is a very nice place to stay if you want a place that is clean, large, and well equipped. However, the reason that I would recommend it to my friends is the owners!

We were satisfied with this house. it is located in a very good place, with good climate, low winds. Prince (the owner) has been very polite with us and has made our holidays very pleasing. Really I recommend this house for your holidays in Tobago.

Just wanted to say that i have stayed in Courland Bay Apartment for 6 nights.

It is a very cozy, convenient and comfortable house.

My favourite part, was walking to the beach 2 mins(which is Stone Haven beach).

I stayed with my sister, brother, niece and my daughter.

We had fun and we heard the Corico bird singing from the porch.

It is really a home away from home.

The Apartment is within walking distance to Fort Bennett.

The kitchen have all the necessary utensils, so we did a lot of cooking.

At night you could hear the sound of the waves.

You can see the beach from the yard.

The kids had a lot of fun as on the evenings there where other children riding bikes and they enjoyed looking at them.

I must say we had a really good time and the owner Mr Prince and his mother are two lovely people.

My husband, cousins and I stayed at Courland bay apts., for one week in mid may, and we had a glorious time. From the day we arrived to the day we left, we were made to feel so much at home, that we were sad to leave. Aside from the fact that the apt., was so comfortable, our hosts treated us like family. Prince, who manages the apts., even recommended a wonderful restaurant for us to dine as we were there to celebrate my cousins' birthdays. We will most surely recommend this place to our family and friends, and will most certainly return for another visit.
