Lillibets - Reader Reports & Opinion

We spent 5 nights at Lillibets as part of a two week holiday in Tobago in April 2014. We stayed in both the 'bottom' floor apartments (although there is another, new/nearly-finished apartment below); this was ideal for our family of four as the shared balcony was the perfect place to relax with amazing views!
The apartments were lovely and clean and were well equipped. Heavenly (Little) Bay is all of a 2 minute walk away and the bar/restaurant on the beach, the Boathouse, serves really tasty food and hosts a fabulous drum and limbo night every Wednesday which is great for kids and adults alike - booking recommended.
The only minor, minor niggles were the rather noisy air conditioning unit in one of the apartment's bedrooms and that sounds from the apartments above caused minor disturbance; our previous lodge had not had air conditioning and we coped fine, so our conclusion is that the top floor apartments at Lillibets would be our idea of beach accommodation perfection!

A nice place with good views and close to the beach. Very nice vaulted ceilings and large bathroom. Nice balcony area. Hot and cold shower but not much power when I used it. Tom and Liz were pleasant too.

My sister and I were very happy with the physical location and the view from Lillibets, the deck being a wondrous place where we had regular visits from a Motmot.
I did not mind the climb up to the house, but my sister recently had some problems with her lungs and it was hard for her.
There were definitely some plumbing problems with the toilet. It would not flush properly and the water pressure fluctuated, symptoms with a common cause, I would say.
Other than that any time we requested help, it was forthcoming with a phone call.

My friend and I stayed at Lillibets for four weeks in January/February 2014. The apartment and the wonderful balcony are very spacious and airy. You have a good view of Castara, the ocean and the bays. Liz and Tom always helped when we needed it.
In Lillibets you can hear the sounds of the whole environment. We didn`t mind dogs barking and howling and roosters crowing, we loved the fantastic sounds and visits of the tropical birds, but we didn`t enjoy the human noise pollution in Castara.
Whoever plays "music" in the village wants to entertain the whole area, mostly from 10 am till 11 pm (sometimes throughout the whole night).
So if you are noise tolerant, Lillibets is the place to stay in Tobago.

If your going to stay in Castara, Lillibets is the place to stay! We can't recommend it enough.
Between the huge balcony, the beautiful view, the temperature, the people, the beach and Liz and Tom's hospitality - it was a little bit of paradise!
The apartments are very well equipped with a few extra touches - bedside tables with lamps for late night reading, decent mosquito nets, sofabed with it's own mosquito net in the lounge, lovely lampshades on the walls, comfortable cushioned balcony furniture, huge fridge, etc
We could barely pull ourselves off the balcony the view was so beautiful :)
We also got to see many birds, bats, lizards, agouti's, chickens, roosters, etc right from the comfort of the balcony.
Nothing was too much trouble for Liz and Tom - very accommodating, responsive and understanding. It made our stay all the better.
We found it quiet, tranquil and beautiful. We weren't disturbed by music or man made noise even with the lovely Boat House Bar right beneath Lillibets.
The stairs up to the apartments were no issue and are worth the view without a doubt.
I would definitely return and recommend Lillibets.
