Lillibets - Reader Reports & Opinion

We stayed in Lillibets for 2 weeks at the end of April and first week in May. It was coming up to season change i.e. dry to wet.
The weather was fantastic as was the service from Lillibets. We were informed from Lillibets before our departure everything we would need to know about getting around the island from car transport to exchange rates. They were only to pleased to help.
On our arrival into Crown Point airport we were met by Bruce, Lillibets Castara representitive. Bruce was great fun on our transfer and has a vast knowledge of the island and it's history. He was always available for any queries or info.
Bruce was able to arrange all the activities we wanted to do in Tobago, from car rental to fishing trips. And the rates were extremely reasonable.
On our arrival to Lillibets we were pleased to see all the comforts of home. From a gas cooker to air conditioned bedrooms. A bundle of clean fluffy towels were at our disposal. The huge selling point of these apartments is the large balcony overlooking Castara bay. A view that is still the wallpaper on our laptop!
The fishing/snorkeling trip is an absolute must. We traveled around various bays, snorkeled in the reefs and saw a hole host of beautiful fish and wildlife.
It is very hard to sum up the whole "Lillibets, Tobago" experience but i'll give it a whirl.........
If you are wanting a relaxing holiday in a beautiful place with all the comforts of home you couldnt beat Lillibets. The whole holiday was made more special by the people that we met who looked after us and made us feel so welcome, Bruce and Charlie from Lillibets, the boathouse crew, the local lads at D Lime and most importantly from the Lads point of view Mr Codrington who kept us in steady supply of cold Carib and Rum!!!
Crikey writing all this has made me all wistful. Between the 4 of us who travelled on this holiday we have all agreed that of all the many places we have been from India to Mexico and most of europe Tobago and Lillibets is top of our list of places to go back to!!

Other reviewers have done a good job of describing the appartments at Lillibets and we would agree with them so will keep this short and to the point.
What we liked about Lillibets:
The amazing view across the bay
Lots of time spent sitting on the spacious balcony watching birds and bats on the bird feeder (sugar or bananas proved popular)
Wandering out to one of the local restaurants for dinner (The Boathouse is good for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Vera's does a good roti for lunch or the Tobagonian standard fish, chicken or shrimp with veg and rice/fries for dinner and if you want to eat in but can't be bothered to cook the pizzas at Big Fish are to be recommended)
It's really close to the beach where there is amazing snorkelling within a few feet
Suggestions for improvement:
The apartment was generally clean but more care needs to be taken with the cleaning in the bathroom as we had to wipe someone else's hair trimmings off the shelf and having flooded the bathroom had to clear the plug hole of hair.
We enjoyed our stay at Lillibets, it's in a great place, well maintained and makes a good base for exploring Castara.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week stay at Lillibets. The views from the balcony (upper floor) were superb, and although the bacony is shared with one other flat, Liz has ensured there is privacy for those who wish with a curtain between the two (each flat has it's own separate entrance, but it would be an ideal situation for two couples holidaying together or families). Close to all the amenities of Castara, the apartment had everything we could want and was spotlessly clean. The bird life is wonderful, the snorkelling is great too; there are rays close in to the shore, beautiful parrot fish, spotted eels, and colourful corals. The beach is just below the apartments. There are plenty of restaurants and takeaways around, and some small shops selling tinned stuff, fruit and veg if you really want to cook for yourself. We were worried about reports we read mentioning noise of music late into the night and dogs and cockerels in the morning, however we had no such problems. The live music in the cafe on the beach was great, it was only once a week and was finished by midnight. Yes there are dogs and hens around in Castara, but we didn't find the noise annoying or intrusive. It is a bit of a climb up the steps to the apartments, but well worth it for the view. Anyway - it keeps you fit and you'll find you're romping up there by the end of the week! Tom, Liz and Bruce were the perfect hosts - nothing too much trouble and always ready to help if required. We would stay again and would happily recommend it to others.

We visited Lillibets, for a 2 week stay, at the end of April beginning of May, which was anticipated to be the start of the rainy season... 6 spots of rain whilst basking on our sunloungers was the kind of rainy season for us!!!
Before the holiday we were given all the information we needed, regarding local currency, places to get groceries etc. well before our visit to Castara, by our hosts Liz and Tom, which was much appreciated.
On arrival to Tobago we were greeted by smiley-faced Bruce, who helped us settle in to our apartments - which had all the essentials needed, and advised that anything he could help us with was ony a phone-call away, although he was always to hand, as well as the locals in the village, who are friendly and willing to help or give advice on anything.
The view from the large spacious balcony made our holiday, and the sound of the waves and birds in the mornings are sadly missed now we are back home. The beach was a stones' throw (literally), and the reef and fishing also close to hand. We enjoyed the excursions organised by Bruce and Charlston to the full, and have excellent photos and memories.
We would recommend Lillibets to anyone visiting beautiful Castara, and look forward to visiting again in the future.

We stayed one week in March 2008 at Lillibets. The appartment has a really stunning view over the bay, is very quiet an absolutely peaceful. We left the windows open all day and night without having to worry about any burglar. Thanks to the high roof, the appartment is nice breezy, not hot. Comfortable cane armchairs are provided and we sat for hours on the large balcony in the shade, enjoying the view and reading a book. We also enjoyed the peaceful simming directly downstairs (only few stairs) from the house.
Tom and Liz and Bruce are really very friendly and warm-hearted. We were invited for BBC (including the Tobago famous pigtails and lots of fish). Thank you for the nice evening, Tom and Liz.
When we arrived th first day, we found the sofa in the appartment rather spotty, but after telling Tom and Liz they cleaned it the very next day so we felt comfortable.
