Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a 1 bedroom suite (Wahoo ) at the Naturalist, in a beautiful bay in quaint Castara, overlooking the beach and ocean. Great features including helpful staff, air conditioned bedroom, large patio with lounge chairs and table, great breakfast, and free use of beach chairs at the beach.

Very nice and quiet place, directly on the beach. a lot of privacy. life is going very slowly, very good for relaxing, dreaming and observing the pelicans in the bay. Ancle and Tracy do their best to comfort all the guests with a good sense of humor. Cars can be rented, tours organized to see the island, rain forest, birds etc....all you wish.

My husband and I stayed at the Naturalist Beach Resort for our third anniversary/first honeymoon. The facilities lived up to the expectations that we gathered from the pictures on this site. The environment is beautiful and serene and everything one can ask for in a getaway. We were won over immediately as we set foot on the premises.
What was pleasantly surprising and refreshing was the level of camaraderie and hospitality extended to us by the owner and staff at this beautiful getaway. We were treated like family, such was the warmth we experienced there.
The facilities are comfortable, homey and visitors are well provided for with necessary accessories should they desire to cook etc. as we did. The rooms are cleaned daily by very courteous staff.... I don't know what to say anymore: it felt like five star hotel service at a more relaxed accommodation than a hotel. Beautiful!
To Mr. Ancle George and staff, please keep doing what you are! We intend to make the Naturalist Beach Resort our second home!

We could not have asked for a more perfect vacation. The holy trinity of sun, sand and sea comes together at the doorstep of The Naturalist. Similarly, Tobago, Castara and The Naturalist form a combination that is hard to beat anywhere in the Caribbean. Tobago is a beautiful island on its own with a few regions to choose from. Castara in particular while off the beaten path offers holidaymakers the opportunity to see the Caribbean of yesteryear. With it's picture perfect bay and more importantly the wonderful people and sense of community surrounding it, Castara is not just a basecamp for island adventures, it's a place you will not want to leave. While Englishman's Bay and Parlatuvier are not to be missed, our trip to Tobago was made by Castara and perfected by The Naturalist. The properties varying room locations offer superb views of the Caribbean Sea which is only a few steps away. The experience is made complete by the exceptional service and hospitality from the owner, Ancle and his entire staff.

Simply the best. I could leave it at that but for those unbeleivers here are some details.
Staff - fantastic from Ancle the owner, Tracy in reception who arranged everything to all the cleaning and ground staff.
Everyone was friendly yet professional, accommodating, courteous, happy and efficient.
Rooms - Wonderful, very well equipped kitchen, lounge, en suites and bedrooms. DVD player, free cable TV, free WiFi
Views - Outstanding, superb, fantastic, unobstructed views and magical sunsets.
Position - You couldn't ask for better - directly on Castara beach yet quiet and peaceful.
I stayed at a Turtle Beach Resort at the begining of our stay in Tobago before moving to Castara. Turtle Beach Resort was all inclusive and was on the beach too ! It had lots of amenities, facilities and staff yet The Naturalist knocked Spots off it ! This is no reflection on Turtle Beach Resort but rather how good the Naturalist was.
