DO NOT stay at Rainbow Resort in Tobago because they will swindle you and Robb you and you will not enjoy your stay there..
WE Made a reservation 5 days in advance of our anticipated arrival and confirmed our rooms the day prior to our arrival in December 2011.
THE DAY OF OUR ARRIVAL to Tobago... while we were enroute by Ferry boat to Rainbow Resort, we get a call 1 hour prior to our arrival, that now the 2 rooms we booked and paid deposit for were no longer available..
What they tried to offer us.. (a family of 6) was totally NOT acceptable, especially when we confirmed the day before.
The clerk at the desk when we arrived to discuss what they were offering us, told us, at 1pm, Management left because they didn't want to deal. With all the reservations that'll not be honoured for sone reason, but did say that RAINBOW RESORT HAS REFUSED TO REFUND OUR $1063.00 even though they were the ones to renegg on our reservations and refused to give us what we reserved..
After dealing with our bank, and a costly long distance call to bank and other resorts in the area, we finally received our credit card deposit back because the bank was very helpful.
However 1 1/2 months later, Rainbow Resort in Tobago decided to charge our credit card once again for a stay we never had with them because they screwed up on our reservations and they decided to make changes we never authorized, or wanted, so we had to run around looking for another resort with availability to what we needed..
WE FOUND JIMMYS HOLIDAY RESORT HAD JUST WHAT WE REQUIRED, SO WE LEFT RAINBOW RESORT WITH BIG DISAPPOINTMENT AT BEING SCAMMED AND STAYED AT JIMMYS HOLIDAY RESORT
DO NOT STAY AT RAINBOW RESORT IN TOBAGO !!!!!

I've just found my home away from home. My friends and I just returned from a 3 night stay at Rainbow Resort and it was well above expectation. Easter 2011 will be a well remembered get away because of this place.
We arrived about an hour prior to check in time but our room was ready. We were allowed to check in, EXCELLENT. The room was very clean, spacious and had 2 queen sized beds, that was not expected. The kitchen really was fully equipped and had all that we needed (even though we didn't cook).
There was housekeeping service on both Saturday and Sunday. They came in, tidied the room, mopped out the bathroom and took out the trash.
The pool was fantastic. Large, warm waters and various depths (unlike the pools at Surf Side). We bathe everyday, only spent half day at Store Bay (really unusual for my family)
The one downside and my only recommendation, there's no wireless internet access. Once they add this feature I'll be head over heels in love with the place. I hope if Mrs Rattan sees this she would consider adding that amentiy as its the only thing missing.
All in all it was an excellent stay. The location is ideal, near the beaches, ATM, grocery and eateries. The staff was very friendly and quite well mannered (which is something lacking really bad in Tobago). I will definitely return (fingers crossed for November).

I stayed at the Rainbow Resort when I was across in Tobago and it was great. I usually dont stay at the resorts because I have family but it was a large crowd of us going. And it was amazing very pleasing and welcoming.. The rooms were cleaned, when we left our rooms were cleaned back up. Everything was prefect and I would recommend it to anyone to stay at the resort.. I would definitely stay at the resort again come next year...

My yearly family reunion was within three weeks and the place we booked, disappointed us by raising prices after we had put in a downpayment(we found out when we called to confirm our stay).
Imagine my panic. I had 12 adults and 4 kids and no place to stay. Thank goodness for the people at Rainbow resort, not only were they kind and understanding, but they found me a three bedroom room that amply accomadated my huge family and provided two additional rooms for my friends and I.
I must say I was ready to stay anywhere but Rainbow was beyond expectation. Not only was it clean and comfortable. It was great to come to a nicely air conditioned room at the end of a hot fun filled day. Everyday the sheets were changed and the room spotless. The pool was pretty and very clean. My patio scene was a beautifully kept semi garden at the side of the pool. It was so safe cause at night they have a security guard and he is ever alert. He made us feel secure and we were able to better relax late at night on the patio.
We needed a tour guide and the beautiful young lady at the front desk recommeded Mr Hans, who turned out to be one of the best guides I have ever had in my life. If you need anything go to the staff. They are helpful and sweet. We bugged them for everything from a big pot to a tour guide and they were gracious about it.
Thank you Rainbow resort for saving my vacation with my family and for helping to make it so great. You will see us next year.
