Unfortnately I did not have a chance to read the reviews on Sandy Point Village and like Ann from the Seychelles ended up at the wrong hotel. I too received positive recommendations from several people that this was a good place to stay, however, my experience was not good and I certainly will not recommend Sandy Point Village. I asked to be moved three times with each move getting progressively worse; I also asked for someone from management to come over and see one of the rooms to no avail. Basically, the rooms are very dark and damp with poor housekeeping. The first bathroom leaked, the grouting in the tiles were black with mold and mildew (you could smell the mold in the atmosphere) the airconditioning was old and did not function to the point there were still mosquitoes throughout the night was mold. As my stay was only 4 days, I decided to stay out of the room for as long as possible. I did get a chance to check out the accommodation at Sandy Point Beach Club which is much better. I mentioned my disappointment to the people who recommended the Village, some were surprised (different requirements I guess) and some meant the Beach Club but did not think to diffrentiate. The only good things are the grounds and the views from the restaurant.

STAYING AT SANDY POINT WAS AN EXPERIENCE I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE LOOKING TO SPEND QUALITY TIME WITH THEIR SPOUSE. THE POOL WAS BEAUTIFUL BUT THE JACUZZI WAS WONDERFUL.

THE ROOM WAS KEPT NERY CLEAN AND TIDY. EVERYDAY WHEN WE LEFT, THE MAIDS WOULD COME CLEAN UP, PUT CLEAN TOWELS, DROP OF THE NEWSPAPERS AND WOULD HAVE THE ROOM CHILLED FOR WHEN WE ARRIVED.

I ENJOYED MY STAY, INFACT MY HUSBAND AND I ENJOYED OUR STAY THERE.

My husband and I with my in laws and our little girl decided to spend the Carnival holidays in Tobago as we had enjoyed ourselves very much in December. Unfortunately the hotel we stayed at was fully booked during this period, so we decided to go to and stay at Pigeon Point Village, as we had read some good reviews about it.

Booked the family room asked for the differnt amenities that the hotel offered and also asked for either 02 rooms or a family room to accomodate 04 adults and 1 toddler. We had made our request clear from the beginning that we wanted the rooms to be seperate as to have some privacy. Called 01 week before we left Trinidad to make sure that everything was okay.

Got to the hotel, to our dismay, the room we were allocated to was a disaster, went downstairs to make a complaint(1) toilet was out of order, (2) curtains were torn, (3) the fridge was not cleaned properly, the sink in the tiny kitchen area was leaking, (4)the basin in the bathroom had mildew around the taps, no cooking utensils, finally the bedroom upstairs was a total disaster just two big beds and no privacy at all, the aircondition the wires which should have been hidden the naked eyes were in full view the piece of wood that was to hide that was on the floor under the vanity table. What a shock. We were promised that they were going to change us rooms but that never happened. We asked to see the manager that also did not happen as he had left during the evening/night to go to Carnival in Trinidad. What a real nightmare. Finally we just gave up and tried to enjoy our little break in Tobago by not staying in that room so much. I was expecting this hotel to be better as we had had such good reviews from the website and also other reviews. We shall never go there again and I will not recommend this hotel to anyone really. I have the pictures and will be sending them to the owner/manager.

I booked accomodations at Sandy Point Village for three in July 2005. When my party got there, the room was a mess, dingy, smelly and overall in need of a fixer upper. I ended up not staying there, and had to seek alternative accomodation. I noticed the bedrooms for two was ok, so I again booked this hotel the next year June 2006 for two couples. My husband and I found dead cockroaches all over the room. On one of the nights, while my husband was sleeping, a live cockroach crawled up his leg!!

I would not recommend this place to anybody, the service is terrible, the restaurant is expensive, the only good thing is the pool.

My wife and I stopped at Sandy Point Village for two weeks at the end of April 2006 and found it to be very good.It was out of season which we find to be the best times to go to popular destinations as places arn't so crowded."The Deep" disco and bar were shut but that didnt really matter to us.

The rooms were cleaned daily and unlike in a previous report on this site the towels and bedding were fine and not threadbare.

The resturant was excellent and I enjoyed one of the best Lobsters I have ever eaten there along with a good bottle of Australian red.

The staff were all very helpful and well mannered towards us.I think it helps if you smile at them and say good morning etc as to them its just another day at work and they may not be feeling on top form.

We hired a jeep from Sheppy ( on the left before you get to the Twocan Inn )which we found to be a very good service.We could have had a complimentary mobile phone if we had have wished.

As far as beaches go there are some very good ones on Tobago but we were lucky enough to find Canoe Bay which is where all the loacls and Trinidadians head for in their holiday season ( June ,July,August ).We were there in May so had the entire beach and complex to ourselves and found ourselves getting slightly agittated if somebody else appeared!!! You will have to find it for yourself as we want it to be the same next time we go back.

All in all a great holiday which we booked over the net so saving almost 300 on what we would have paid through a high street tour operator.

I can recommend Sandy Point Village as a good value for money apartment hotel to which w will return.
