Fishing: Other Information
A guide to fishing tackle outlets on Tobago and other information of interest to anglers
Fishing Tackle Outlets
As far as we can determine, it is not possible to hire fishing tackle on Tobago. The following shops do, however, sell a reasonably extensive range for stock:
- Mangrove Shop, Pigeon Point Road, Crown Point. Owner, John Trim, will provide advice on shore fishing possibilities within the vicinity.
- Mariner Outboard Dealership, Four Roads, Milford Road, Bon Accord.
- Sports & Games, Scarborough. Sell a few rods and reels.
We understand that there is also a fisherman's supply shop next to the Post Office just off Dutch Fort in Scarborough. They probably have the best stock of heavy tackle, such as used by the local commercial fishermen.

Capt. Frothy de Silva’s periodic reports on Legend Lures are a useful way of determining current fishing conditions off Tobago.
