Hi all!
Many thanks for such a well thought out, thorough and extremely useful website, do keep up the excellent work.
I have a question which I hope someone will be able to help answer: do you know of any really good restaurants that do private catering in Tobago, or perhaps any catering companies? I would like to host a small gathering for about fifty people or so in Autumn, and would really appreciate a good caterer.
Thanks in advance
Sally

Hi Sally
Welcome aboard!
This is not something I have ANY experience of, but these thoughts may be food for thought pending an answer from someone on the island who may be able to answer from personal experience/knowledge.
The answer to your question may be dependent upon the venue for the meeting. Most "nice" venues are part of hotels and they probably insist on doing the catering themselves. Given the size of the island, I don't believe that there are any major "specialist" outside caterers. To illustrate this, I would mention that the Tobago Yellow Pages does not have any "catering" sections. Having said that, there are a number of restaurant owners who would, no doubt, be interested in helping.

Hi Steve!
Thanks for such a prompt reply - it's great to be onboard!
And thank you as well for your suggestions.
I realised I forgot to mention that we're looking to have the catering done at a private villa, which might make a difference to the offers I get.
I gathered in my search so far that most catering companies are in Trinidad, and indeed it might be a bit of a challenge getting one in Tobago. Nevertheless I'll keep trying, and I'll certainly keep an eye peeled on the forum for further replies.
Many thanks once more.
Best,
Sally

I did wonder if you were thinking of a villa.
Just a thought niggling at the back of my mind. Why not try Bobbie and Charlene at Rouselle's, at the Tobago Plantations Golf Course. I don't have an email address for them (CAN ANYONE HELP, PLEASE), but they are top class and could be just the sort of people to be interested.

catering in tobago
yes, in tobago there is a person - Juliet Beresford - who is a long time professional caterer, with great professionality, charme, and she always goes a long way to make sure her customers are very satisfied.
The company is called Mamasan, located in the building where FT Farfan in Lowlands is accomodated: very visible from the highway, direction to the airport, on the right side, along the curve before the entrance to the hilton/angostura compound (opposite side). tel.6310973 (bakery), cell.7788217. Juliet provides catering to villas, yacht, weddings, even restaurants: range from finger food to complete meals (excellent local cuisine with a flair). The wedding cakes are her superb masterpieces: by word of mouth she is always in great demand. Buon appetito.
Ciao Gabriele
