We've just got back from 2 weeks staying near Grafton. Had a great time as we expected - our second visit to Tobago.

Here are our restaurant experiences:-

La Terrazza - our favourite. Top rate Italian food at pretty reasonable prices. Lovely service from Kisha who owns the restaurant with her husband - the chef. The sole and potato starter is outstanding - this must be the only restaurant with its own cigar factory onsite!

La Tartaruga - another Italian restaurant, this one at Bucco Bay. Not bad but in our view not as good value as above. Nutty chef/patron.

Salsa Kitchen - unfortunately the owner chef was absent and her assistant not up to caterinig for two tables of about 15 people in total. This was the slowest service in the world...ever. Occasional flashes of good food but to be avoided if the owner isn't there. Not expensive.

Melange - we were disappointed as this was a favourite of ours in 2002 when we last visited. Again the owner was absent and the service was idiosyncratic to a degree that was more than could be excused.

House of Pancakes - good breakfast - friendly owners

Panache - same owners as above - once they showed up the food was good but when we arrived the staff were initially hopeless. Good value and the owners are v friendly.

Sharon and Phoebes - lovely spot and possibly best value on the Island - a great place to watch the sun go down in Charlotteville if you don't mind driving back in the dark.

The Seahorse - crisp service and nice setting - great happy hour cocktails.

Toucan Inn/Bonkers - Very friendly service for lunch, although it is better to go at lumchtime. later in the afternoon the staff are gearing up for the evening.

Lals Roti - excellent value, lovely rotis and soooooooooo cheap.

Speyside Inn - Good food, reasonable prices and lovely setting.
