Gilly and Kelly made us so welcome at their lovely home overlooking the port and coastline. Straight away we felt at ease in their company and have to say that they are such kind helpful people making our visit to Tobago special.
Staying with local residents was so useful for information about where to go eat and the special places to visit.
We only were planning to stay two nights but stayed a week and if we hadn't booked other accomodation for the second week would have stayed their all our holiday. The location is ideal for travelling around the island.
Just think it is magical at night looking at the twinkling lights over the harbour at night and the sea beyond in the moonlight.I think people make a place and the owners certainly make. Tobago

Moonlight Mountain near Scarborough was the perfect place for my Tobago vacation. I was so happy having chosen this little paradise although is was not very close to beach. But the view from our room was breathtaking. Nothing was more relaxing than swinging in the hammock on the veranda of our room and looking over the beautiful flowers and plants to the harbor and surrounding hills. Ginny and Kelly, the owner of this beautiful guest-house are such wonderful and warm hosts who really care about their guests. Kelly's breakfasts were delicious and healthy. For me it was a special treat to get one-on-one yoga lessons from Ginny, a truly experienced and inspiring yoga teacher. Ginny and Kelly are happy to give great insider tips and recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. They (me too) recommend renting a car, since walking on the narrow streets which are winding up the hill is not very safe. But taking one trip to Scarborough or even to one of the beaches (for example Mount Irvine or Crafton) by taxi is still affordable too. Although the deck with long chairs and a small plunge pool invites one to just stay and relax at the guest-house.
I can highly recommend Moonlight Mountain and will come back for sure! Thanks Ginny and Kelly for your hospitality and friendship!

Fantastic! Monlight Mountain felt like a retreat, a haven,a true home away from home. We were so comfortable there that at times we did not even feel like leaving to drive to go anywhere.
The place is nested in the hills with a fantastic view overlooking Scarborough. Its very peaceful and quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle. It makes for a truely relaxing vacation.
If you like to be in the heart of the action with everything within walking distance, then this is not the place for you. However, if you want to rejuvenate and return to your inner peace, then this place and its early morning yoga sessions are definitely what you are looking for.
The fresh local breakfast was also worth waking up for.
We had a fantastic time, thanks Ginny and Kelly.
P.S. If you are staying at this place, you definitely need a car to be able to get around, as its quite a way from the main road and public transportation.

Well yet again i have had a wonderful time in Tobago and my 14 day stay at Moonlight Mountain(MLM) was the icing on the cake. I travel on my own and knowing of the location had pre-booked (as advised) a jeep for 7 days to explore the island. On a previous stay i was happy to just chill and soak up the ambience, but feeling more adventurous this time and map in hand, i set off. The fuel is cheap & the roads?? but the 2 sides of the island have many different beaches & features to explore ( only got lost once?).
I also decided to make use the local taxis, who actually proved reliable & inexpensive!! for trips into Scarborough, to the new Cinema/Shopping Mall & Pigeon Point. Tobago itself is a beautiful Island with many a charecter & with the information that Ginny & Kelly have on hand I met many of them. From Bago's Bar, Dillon's Restuarant, Shore Things, the boat trips, Grafton Beach(one of my favourites)& of course Sunday School and much much more... What MLM has to offer seems geared to the individual and nothing seemed to much for Ginny & Kelly, & Lucky (the dog) was on hand to show me down into the Decking area of the rainforest part of the Garden for a moment of tranquility(Heaven). Thank You, Thank you... Until next time(hopefully)

I was truly disappointed by moonlight mountain, they waited until we arrived to tell us the pool was not functioning, the taxi fare was $100.oo and when we arrived the owner told the driver to let us pay and he will give us back....we are still waiting and in my opinion no where in tobago the taxi fare should be $100.00. the place is far away from EVERYWHERE and it is hard to pay $100 everytime you want to go to a beach or in the towm. so basically i felt trapped and bored out of my mind...i mean come on yes it had cable but if i wanted to stay in and watch tv i would have stayed home. we didn't bother to stay the night we left and went to douglas apartment...which is never disappointing.
