Coco Reef Resort - Reader Reports & Opinion

This was our third visit to Coco Reef (Nov '09)and once again it was a memorable holiday. It's so relaxing to spend days on the beach with great swimming / snorkelling and a very efficient drinks service during the day. The management and staff really do make an effort to ensure their guests are looked after and we have made some good friendships among them. Food was excellent. Lobster is occasionally on the menu with a surcharge of approx 28 pounds sterling - and well worth it! There were numerous repeat guests during our stay, which is probably the best indicator of how the resort is judged by many. We hired a jeep for a couple of days and enjoyed some good trips to both sides of the island. Driving is on the left which is fine for UK drivers. The roads between villages can be very winding and steep with occasional pot-holes and side drainage channels and so there is certainly no chance for the driver to enjoy the scenery! However, we would hire a car again as it adds an extra dimension to the holiday. Petrol/gas stations are few and far between and therefore you need to keep a close eye on the fuel guage - not easy if you can't take your eyes off the road! A map showing fuel station locations is therefore essential and most hirers will provide this as normal. So I can highly recommend the Coco Reef once again and we will hopefully return for a fourth visit one day.

My husband and I got married here last year (my post is a bit late I know!!!). It was absolutely perfect. I could not fault anything. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and made us feel really welcome. The rooms were clean and spacious and we had no complaints. The food was amazing I have never had better food anywhere I have travelled before. In my opinion there is nothing that could make this hotel any better. It is perfect and we will be returning without hesitation.

We have been to the Caribbean with Sandals & Almond previously & had researched the Coco Reef with reports indicating a resort with good reviews; we therefore booked our special holiday. Aug 1969 was our wedding date so we were celebrating 40 yrs marriage. We arrived courtesy of an excellent flight on BA to be welcomed with cocktails and a room decorated specially with petals & flowers depicted in 40 yrs celebration on the beds. From that moment, the attention to detail and level of service from Eric and his team was 1st class. Meals with Melisa, beach service with Chris, cocktails with Gary, taxis with Patrick and many/many more friendly staff who could not do enough to make you welcome. We recommend Coco Reef as the best Caribbean resort we have been to and will be booking to return next year.

My husband and i stayed at Coco Reef for our Silver Wedding in July.Well what can I say,it was paradise. The staff were very helpfull and Eric the manager went of his way to make sure everything was perfect. The hotel has a Rolls Royce that we were keen on using on our anniversary day to take us to the Seahorse restaurant (fantastic rest.), but the man that drives the car was on holiday, but when we asked Eric he made a phone call and within mins he told us that the man would cut short his holiday to come and drive us!!!.The hotel had also upgraded our room to a suite and we had petals saying "Welcome Happy Anniversary" on the bed when we arrived, with champagne on ice and fresh fruit. On our anniversary day the covered the bed again saying Happy 25th wedding anniversary, they also sent a fantastic flower arrangement ,and a champagne cocktail. The food in the restaurant was out of this world,we have not been to many restaurants anywhere where the food was as good with excellent service. The waiters on the beach were brill at delivering your cocktail while you were relaxing on your sunlounger. We also had a trip on the speed boat Zoe,we took a bottle of champagne and watched the sunset, worth every penny. The lunch time food on the beach restaurant was very good with most days having a bar-b-que and offering a good selection of fresh fish. The puddings were also to die for especially the rum and raison ice cream, yummy.
Would we recommend the Coco Reef to anyone ,well yes of course. Would we return, you bet we would ,we are thinking of returning next year. We have both said it was the best holiday we have ever had.

I stayed here with my parents for 4 days and it was perhaps one of the best vacations I've had in quite some time.
On arrival we were greeted by one the managers on site and were taken to a room after a brief tour of the compound facilities. The staff was cordial and pleasant - extremely well-mannered and willing to assist with whatever you needed.
The food was a bit pricey but the prices at the Cafe Coco restaurant -also owned by Coco Reef; appoximately five minutes away- proved to be more reasonable.
The guests were also a pleasure to be around; they weren't loud and rude.
One thing I like in particular about the resort is the versatility of it. The activities available make it enjoyable for a family, couples, or even for one person who wishes to simply relax and escape their daily duties.
All in all the little vacation was much higher than my preconceived notions and a definite welcome. I will surely return there.
