My husband and I ran awAy from holiday chaos to stay in our sister Isle. Our stay was good the cabana was clean and comfortable the staff were courteous,The location near the beach was just perfect. We spent Christmas there and enjoyed all the amenities. The restaurant was convenient on days we stayed in and the planned brunch and Christmas dinner was a great idea.
There were two issues that were not comfortable. Our cabana was nearest to the beach but the car park was at the front of the hotel it was rainy and often got wet going to and from our car. It would be nice to have closer parking.
All cabanas had stone steps to door we had to walk through dirt and grass, with the rain shoes were wet and muddy, bringing into the room. Except for these it was a great place to stay and the cosy cabana ideal for our 35th anniversary honeymoon.

I have been staying at the Crown Point on every visit to Tobago and I have been satisfty with the cleanliness, the ambience, the house keeping etc. Since I have discovered Crown Point I have not gone to any hotel and I have been travelling to Tobago once a month.
I do have one request there reservation staff is a little unfriendly and that's the only problem I have other than that I love the Hotel location etc.

Be warned if you are eating in the restuarant make sure that at the bottom of the menu page for the evening meal that it says vat and service charge not included.
We ate there recently and the page did not have this on but we were still charged the extras, when I complained it was met with indifference and the manager said it should have been on there and even though it was not shown we would still have to pay.We noticed the next night the extras were shown at the bottom of the menu page.
So much for "the customer is always right"

I've stayed at this hotel a few times on my trips to Trinidad and although I think the service is terrible, I also think it has the best ocean position on the Caribbean sea. The grounds are lovely and well maintained, but the table tennis looked sad and tired. One can have a lovely stroll to Store Bay and sit and enjoy a rum and coke at the bar looking out to the beautiful sea.
On my last visit, the reception girls and staff seemed more friendly and accommodating. This was a welcomed change from before.
The manager/owner,however, is awful. There is overwhelming atmosphere of distrust and indifference. There always seemed to be someone sitting behind a glass pane watching the reception or manager sitting at the bar, though not vaguely interested in his guest.
Its a pity as the well proportioned manager, is so rude at best and treats his guests as if he was doing us a favour. Perhaps he need to revisit the page on providing service, and maybe trusting in the staff may reap rewards. Plus being pleasant to your guests, so they may return.
As a pleasant lady swimming in the sea told me, "this hotel is not a nice place to work" what a shame as it could be so much better.
Last point, why have AC throughout the rooms and louvered windows as well, how unsustainable and costly.
