We, my wife and I have been staying at the Grafton since 2004. That year was my first year back home for 39 years. From then on we have been returning to GBR (Grafton Beach Resort). It is now like a second home to us. Despite being an All Inclusive resort, it has a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are now like family and always have a very approachable.
Comparing our visits over the many years, I would implore the GBR management to return to Local evening entertainment. In the early years the place was rocking.
It would be nice to have a choice of local newspapers to read after breakfast.
I would also like to see a return to the hotel having an events manager. They used to but since 2008 recession a lot of amenities have been cut back. Local tour operatorsí leaflets are fine but itís always nice to speak to people who can make recommendations. It is not necessary for us but for those visiting for the first time it would be priceless.
There was free Wi Fi available, but this was limited to the lobby area.
As far as meals are concerned, more local dishes would be a nice touch but I fully understand why it is not always available as there are a wide variety of visitors from around the world to cater for.
Nevertheless we will always return to the Grafton. A great place to relax after Carnival.

I was very pleased with my stay at Grafton Beach Resort. The breakfast each morning was excellent; customer service was on point and access to the facilities (gym and spa) at the neighboring resort made the satisfaction of my needs all the more complete. I will definitely like to return the next time I visit Tobago.

The room was clean and provided the basic amenities. How they mess up my reservations. Initially I booked a lobby floor room with a walk in shower because of medical reasons climbing stairs is very challenging. The day before my room was upgraded to the hotel next door Le Grand Courland . The hotel is situated on the slope of the land, so there are steps everywhere, to the restaurant, bars and beach. The room was filthy. First time I am visiting, therefore I did not know about the landscape.
We ask return to Grafton and the staff was very nice and accommodating. However at this time we could not have gotten a looby floor room. The staff was very nice, the place was clean and the meals were accommodating everybody: vegetarian, fish only eaters and meat eaters. However, the stairs was a problem, it was difficult to go to the lobby and dinning room (3 times a day). The beach was double the trouble stairs down to the road and more stairs to the beach. The only wheelchair access was from the lobby to the pool, but this did not help us because our room was below the looby floor, down the ramp and further down some steps.
My suggestions to management is to make the hotel and beach accessible to wheelchair users and elders. The stairs was too much, stairs to rooms, beach and baby pool. Friday night dinner is on the beach and we could not go because of the stairs. Because of this limitation I will not be visiting this hotel. It is only for the able youngsters.

You really need to take the negative reviews of this place with a large pinch of salt! The Grafton Beach Resort is 3*, and that is what you should expect. It is basic (basic furniture in the bedrooms), but very clean, the rooms all have working aircon and a TV, and the staff are very friendly and helpful (including the rep who was present everyday, and the bar staff who were more than happy to invent you a cocktail!). The pool is lovely, the swim up bar a must, and the restaurant has amazing views over the bay. Food is a classically buffet style, but a decent selection of the basics, and always fresh fruit/salads and fresh fish. The beachside bar is lovely, and has a small menu if you fancy a change from the main restaurant. We even went all inclusive, and loved it! :-)
(and can I just point out other people staying at the hotel included a vegetarian and someone who did not drink alcohol...and they had no complaints either!)

We, 3 of us, stayed here based on its location to an attraction, being with Horses, for one night based on a travel agents recommendation. Overall, the place was nice but the sister hotel next door was more upscale but far. Open entrance and breezeway with ocean view, easy access to beach and waterfront with surrounding resorts was quite and clean. Small bar near beach and a shop also open during the daytime. We arrived midmorning and did not check in but the kitchen staff found small snacks for us. Meals are all buffet style, descent food with some variety, we had breakfast included- quite space for dinning, does not open till 7PM and small bar for drinks while waiting. Room needed updating, AC was noise at night and too cold. Limited bedding and towels, but more towels provided upon request. The location is about 15-20 minutes drive from airport and 10 minutes from other tourist attractions. Pool bars where not open, disappointing because it was one thing we were looking foreword to. Staff was nice except one bartender. front desk made arrangements for taxi and rides. Gated for security, although never felt unsafe. Next time I might look for something a little nicer but may hotels needed multiple night stay, so for one night not bad.
