Rovanel's Resort - Reader Reports & Opinion

I stayed at Rovanel's just for one night in Feb 2007.
The property is elegant in appearance, with extensive, well tended gardens, a large swimming pool, large deck area (shaded and unshaded), a restaurant and bar.
The rooms with ensuite bathrooms are equally pleasing with large glass doors opening onto balconies. We were on the ground floor so could exit our balcony into the gardens.
Service was friendly and helpful.
There are two downsides to the property. The first is that it is not as conveniently located as some others, if you want to be walking distance to the restaurants and bars of crown point. You need to have a car.
The second is more of a personal preference in that the hotel boasts a zoo for the enjoyment of it's guests. Some of it is pleasant but in other cases it seemed to me that the cages were too small/ or too many animals inside. In one case there was a deer on it's own in quite a small space, and similarly a monkey on it's own. I feel it would be better if for example, those enclosures were larger and they had a companion.

Not because this is my uncle and aunt, but this Rovanel is breathtaking. Poolside is great, food/drink is great, the zoo is great for the kids.
I even brought back brochures to the USA and gave out to my co-workers and friends for them to stay when they visit Tobago.
Since 2004 of my visit I still root for Rovanel.
Five stars for Rovanel.
Keep it up aunt Rosa, and Sylvan, Lisel and staff.

My husband and I stayed at the Resort for our honeymoon. We enjoyed the ambience. The room was lovely. Enjoyed the fruit basket and wine we got on entry to the room. The meals were also excellent. The sounds of the birds in the morning made me feel great throughout the day. Hoping to visit another time soon...we have a baby now and can't wait to bring him along. Really, really enjoyed our stay at the Resort.
Rovanel's Resort Vs Conrado Beach Resort
Sorry to post this in two forums, but i'm stuck...I'm going to Tobago from Dec 28th to Jan 1. Does anyone have any feedback on these two hotels.
I'm a bit nervous because this is a last minute trip and they are the only hotels with vacancies. Its either Conrado's or Rovanell. Have you stayed at either and what would you recommend
Not sure what to do...
