You can look at the photo's on the site but nothing prepares you for when you arrive and see this villa set in it's stunning surroundings. We travel extensively and generaly have high expectation which were not only surpassed but blown away by our holiday at Kapinjala over Chistmas and New Year 2008.
When you open the shutters in the morning and see just how beautiful the setting is with the views across the caribean sea to the Nylon pool you can not help but relax and know that the time will vanish all to fast before you have to leave this heavnley place and head back to work.
We are already planning our return and look forward to lazing in the pool and watching the sun slowly slip under the horizon at the end of another perfect day!

We are frequent travellers with quite a lot experience to stay at villas all over the world. Kapinjala gets in our top 10. We all agreed this kind of villas are not for rent usually, as everything was build and furnished to serve the proprietor first. Beautifully located, wonderfully planed, high quality built, well maintained. We enjoyed remote location, the view, the layout, furnishing. I can say only the best about the property, and can’t stop wondering how someone managed to build something so beautiful in a country you can hardly find a builder to trust. At least this is my impression after visiting Tobago. Kapinjala can host 3 couples with kids comfortably, and there was no feeling not a single time others disturb you somehow. There is space more than enough for even double size company, and you can hide from others any time you want.
Irrespective of marvellous beach 5 min walk downhill this was first time for our family spending so much time at the pool instead of going down to the sea shore. There was such a mood at the infinity pool with garden surrounding and all the view around and down to the sea that you find yourself no wish to leave for anything else. And this kind of feeling wasn’t just for me alone. We were seven adults, and all agreed this was something unprecedented. Actually, we found the sea quite rough especially at a new moon just after we arrived, definitely too rough for children. Therefore the pool was essential, and it served as a central meeting point or a living artery to say. We had some four days of rather heavy rain, and I couldn’t imagine what we would do without the pool, considering we had kids.
I found a proprietor of Kapinjala very friendly man, truly concerned about us to give delight. I would like to thank him very much for all assistance he gave us when we get in trouble with XL Airways bankruptcy. Ask him for right rent a car company, as car is essential during your stay, and I highly recommend to go for 4WD. When you see the general road condition and the steep hill you have to drive up, especially when it’s rainy and therefore slippery because of fallen leaves, you will not regret extra expenses paid.
If you are looking for a Caribbean island with no bustle of tourists then Tobago is for you, and if you want even more – get rid of any neighbouring by settling down uphill with a rainforest at your feet, memorable view down to the sea, and the caws of parrots as the only hustle and bustle to disturb your serenity, and at the same time savour all the modern household can offer – then Kapinjala is just the right choice.

Kapinjala is an extremely relaxing hideaway for peace and rejuvanation, but with plenty of beautiful beaches and traditional eateries nearby.
I found the views breath taking. Kapinjala is surrounded by rainforest, beaches, an abundance of wildlife and trinidad visible in the background - rather alot to take in and I spent much time appreciating this from every balcony, every corner of the villa.
The enveloping natural habitat created its own music; bird song, crickets, noise of the ocean. I didnt play music once whilst at the villa, as these melodies were more than sufficient to wile away the day to.
Of an evening the fireflies lit up the darkness, and we spent much time floating by the edge of the infinity pool (drink in hand!) taking in this wonderful spectacle.
The facilities, furnishings and finish of Kapinjala were just fantastic. A great place for a couple or groups - clean, cosy, comfortable but modern.
Everything I hoped it would be. Everything it states it is.

We have travelled to many countries and stayed in some wonderful places throughout the world. We can truly say that Tobago and Kapinjala is difficult to beat. From the moment we arrived we felt completely relaxed. Tobago is a beautiful island, very laid back, wonderfully unspoilt and still full of tradition. The people were extremely friendly and the food delicious. It is well worth taking a boat trip along the coast to explore tiny bays perfect for snorkeling and also to visit the Rain Forest (the only time it rained during our stay!).
As for Kapinjala, literally everything has been thought of in advance, from the positioning of sunbeds in every possible location, to the individual iPod docking stations in every room - all of our needs were catered for. The villa is stunning and has been finished to an extremely high specification and standard throughout. The location is magical with the clever fan shaped design of the villa and infinity pool allowing maximum exposure to the breathtaking views over the bay. The maid was friendly and efficent but unobtrusive at the same time and was a fabulous cook (on request). The owners have clearly made every possible effort to ensure that guests want for nothing during their stay at Kapinjala - all we wanted was to stay on for another week(or several)!

Brilliant.... Excellent... Fantastic.. Superb, words often used in exaggeration. Not however, in the case of Kapinjala. The location, the quality of the villa, its fittings and attention to detail are all of these. When you arrive for the first time and cast your eyes across the infinity pool and out into the Caribbean Sea, the panoramic view is nothing short of incredible. Clearly a lot of time, effort and thought have gone into creating a perfect holiday setting, amazingly tranquil, with no immediate neighbours to annoy, or be annoyed by.
The villa is spacious, luxurious, well planned and very well equipped. There is ample room both inside and out, we spent most of the time outside and such is the size of the usable outdoor space that you never feel cramped. The Pool and Jacuzzi are particularly stunning features. The pool is perfect; relax in the water with a book and a drink, equally as good for swimming in. The Jacuzzi is so positioned that whilst you experience the massaging effect of the water jets you take in one of the best views you are likely to see, great for watching the sunset.
A car (4x4) is advisable, even if you like lazy holidays relaxing by the pool, you would do well to drive out one or two days to experience the wonderful sights of this beautiful island. We found the locals to be helpful, friendly and very relaxed. There is some useful information on ‘things to see and do’ available in the villa. We particularly liked the recommended boat trip on the Coco-motion where Marlon the skipper (a likable, helpful and amusing character) took us on a tour of some stunning secluded beaches, cooked us a barbeque on one of the most idyllic, rounding the trip off with some snorkelling in crystal clear waters.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Tobago for a relaxing holiday. If you go, you must stay at Kapinjala, anywhere else would be a compromise. We can't wait to return.
