The guesthouse was near the end of a laneway in the middle of the village of Black Rock. We had the spacious 2-bedroom apt on the ground floor at the back of the house for four nights! Amenities were great (e.g. air conditioning, kitchen supplies, fridge ...) except that we had difficulty with the t.v. remote control. The guesthouse is in a very peaceful setting with a beautiful garden. You will quickly get used to the roosters and bird calls in the early morning. The birds coming to the feeder were a treat for us as we never had seen such a variety of colours. The sound of the steel pan practices in the evenings was nice.
We didn't have a car but were able to get around by foot or by taxi. Elizabeth had organized for a driver to pick us up at the airport when we arrived. Maggie greeted us when we arrived at the guesthouse and went over things (telephone numbers, security, keys for the gate, air conditioner ...) with us.
It was all easy going. One of the best parts of our short 4-day holiday was the driver/guide services of Peter Alfred who Elizabeth recommended. He is just full of great information – agriculture, birds, history ... - about the island and knows quite a few people. He drove us on a one-day tour of the island going through or stopping at Plymouth, Castara, Englishman's Bay, Charlotteville, Parlatuvier, Speyside ... and coming back on the south side of Tobago.
We were with our 2 teenage daughters who thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The fact that the beaches are a 10-minute walk away was a big plus. We have very pleasant memories and would recommend this guesthouse!

This was my second stay at these lovely apartments and again we had a fabulous holiday. We occupied the 2 studios on the ground floor which are spacious and well equipped, with lovely views of the garden. Everything was perfect and they really felt like a home from home. The situation is ideal with just a 5 minute walk to Grafton beach-one of the lovliest on the island. The immediate surroundings suit us very well as they are in the middle of Black Rock village and allow you to feel like part of the community whilst you are there. As a result we have made many local friends who would drop in and lime with us on many occasions.
Maggie, the housekeeper is a real joy and will always help with anything you need in a calm and cheerful manner.
We will certainly be back!

The Auldwyn Lindsay Apartments is an outstanding place to stay in Tobago. Right in the heart of Black Rock, the beach is a short and pleasant walk.
I felt safe and secure, and the apartment had a genuine 'home' feel.
The owners and employees are so friendly and kind, i would highly recommend anyone (singles or families) to stay here.

Back again - this time in rainy season.
The difference...? Well, its much greener ,lusher - more birds and turtles - wonderful early evening frog calls and yes there is rain but mostly at night and if in the day, mostly brief and warm - great for swimming in!
The apartment - as ever, spick and span - Maggie, the house keeper - a joy - very thorough, reliable personable and great source of local knowledge . Victor, - the manager - a real gent - patient, kind and very helpful.
The gardens - simply a joy - so many different shapes and shades of green and just full of birds!
The island and its people - just magic !
Again, I would, without reserve, recommend this as an excellent base for exploring the island or simply chilling on the beach or terrace - I will be back!!
