Hibiscus Heights - Reader Reports & Opinion

We stayed at Hibiscus Heights for 9 days at the beginning of August. The villa exceeded our expectations for accomodation and location. The beach was a two minute walk from the villa and provided great swimming. We were a short ride away from restaurants and shopping. We would return to Hibiscus Heights in a heartbeat!

My wife and I spent a week at the Corner View. We were pleasantly surprised as we were actually expecting less space. The Corner View isn't small at all. We didn't meet the owner, Gil, until the second day as she wasn't on the island when we arrived but she ensured that we would not have to wait for her. Everything was ready & waiting for us.
Everything was up to mark - cable TV, Wi-Fi, appliances (stove, fridge, washer, dryer), maps. And the housekeeper was very pleasant. We did a little re-arranging, with permission, and put the TV in the living room area (and fell asleep in the comfy sofa bed a couple of nights as well). Breakfasted on the porch many mornings. We were even rained in for one or two days but our disappointment was eased with the comfort of the apt.
Down the hill from the property is a little spread with a mini-mart, a pizza boys, a roti shop, an ATM and a handful of snackettes with some other eating choices, all just off the main road. Across the main road and a 10 min walk is an ok beach, apparently unpopular, because we had it all to ourselves. But we still preferred taking the 20 mins drive to Store Bay & Pigeon Pt. We waited 10 mins on average for taxis on the main road but after a few days Gil put us on to a very accommodating car rental agency with reasonable prices.
Gil didn't like it that we didn't mention we were recently married until we were leaving. She said she would have given us the honeymoon experience. Our loss. :( We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope we can return soon.

My husband and I spend 3 weeks at "Hibiscus Heights" in the apartment "Corner View".
We've got picked up at the airport from a driver. He brougth as first to a supermarket near the airport to buy
some food we need for the next few days. It was just so kind of him. Arriving at the Hibiscus Heights we were
greeted by Gill the landlady. From the first moment we felt like home. The flat was really nice with just a breath-taking view over the small town and the sea. There are enough space for 2 people. We were lucky, because we could use the big terrace above us as well the small pool. You can't swim there but I use it for my water gymnastics.
Gill was such a nice, kind person show me some interesting places like a farm we bought meat as well a good wine shop and other places. If we had some question, she attempted to help us or solve the problem. The houskeeping Dixi who was coming nearly every day, was as well nice, kind and helpfull to us.
My husband was there for diving. The places for diving were excellent too. It was just the right house and village we've choosen. Because there are a small supermarket you can get food, a vegatable stall and for me important there are 3 nice, beautifully long beaches you can go for walk, swimming and snorkeling. I went every day by myself on the beaches as well on different small villages and I only meet nice, people some with I've interesting talks and they were helpfull when I had some questions. I never felt uncomfortable being alone on the way. In the evening you have different possibilities for dinner as well for some drink in a bar.
I've seen different places on the island but I was thinking we've had the best place to spend our holiday. Should we come back one day we'll rent the same place again.

We enjoyed our stay at Warm Breezes (top floor) of Hibiscus Heights. The accommodations were spacious, clean and had a great view. We especially enjoyed the constant breeze during the sometimes hot and humid days. The place was close to a small general store, bank machine and 3 eating places. It was a 15 minute walk to Grafton beach which was beautiful beach and one of the hotels had a restaurant on the beach. It was also about an 1/2 hour walk to Mount Irvine Beach which was also a nice beach with change rooms and restaurant. This beach wasn't as rough as Grafton and better for swimming. We also took to the bus to town which was approximately a half hour ride for $2.00 (TT Dollars).
We would recommend the accommodations for its location if you wanted to be away from any hussle and bustle. The only two draw backs that we found with the place was firstly, you had to travel to shop, buy groceries or eat at a more upscale restaurant so a car would be nice and secondly sometimes the bar down the hill played the music quite loud, especially friday and saturday night.
We were generally satisfied with the home and area. People everywhere were extremely friendly and always very helpful.

We stayed at the sweet nest of hibiscus heights, on the photo that is the little roof at the bottom of the photo (NOT the big house).
The accomodation is excelent, the bed is big and good, the kitchen is well supplied and the people who keep it clean are very friendly and helpfull, very nice people who will help you anyway you need it. The house is small but cozy with a secluded terras were we have seen all kinds of beautifull birds (incl the Mot mot bird) surrounded by bananatrees and all kinds of plants. Down hill there is a bar which is very carribian style, a small supermarket and of course restaurant the fish pot with an excellent menu (except the coffee here which is awfull).
The beach is just down hill, nice and clean. Don't forget to go and see the fishingnet being pulled in on the beach arround 08:00 am which is an excellent experience, to taste the local culture and to meet the locals.
One advise if you use your own transportation: get a good description on how to get there, as there are not much directions, signs or roadnames to help you out.
If the music from the bar is a bit to loud at night just go and ask them to turn down the bass, which they will do for you.
This place gave us an excellent holiday which we would immediately use again.
