Wonderful cottage, peaceful setting, birds, trees, a lovely walk to the beach through the beautiful golf course.
Best of all--a fantastic host! Tony made us a delicious welcome meal and as well a wonderful typical "Tobago Sunday Dinner". He was really helpful in many ways--met us at the ferry dock, drove us to the market, found us a rental car, etc etc. We miss him!

This cottage was perfectly situated, slightly removed from the road and any associated noise. The owner, Mr. Bobb lives right next door, and is extremely helpful but never obtrusive. The beach is a short and pleasant walk through the woods and across the golf course. In the area are several nice restaurants.
Unless one wants to spend a great deal more for a house with sealed windows and air conditioning, this is the perfect vacation getaway. Waking up in the morning with the view of the Caribbean across our patio deck was spectacular. Highly recommended stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Avocado Cottage and Tony Bob was an excellent host. We really enjoy staying in a local place and supporting the local economy as opposed to a large corporate type place. But if you are looking for deluxe accommodations this may not be the place for you. It was rustic but completely comfortable and charming. The deck overlooking the golf course and the ocean was magnificent. Also Tony Bob cooked twice for us and bought us fresh Mango Julies every morning. We felt safe and completely at home. There was everything we needed for comfort and the place was very clean. If you are looking for the real Tobago experience then stay here. We will be returning and staying there.

We loved our stay. very native. dont expect american hotel style.
despite a number of negatives, the peace and quiet made up for a lot.
the cottage needs a new thicker mattress in the main bedroom and more wooden slats under the mattress. we had to sleep in the 2nd bedroom with single beds as these were more comfortable. Also the bedding needs replacing. We enjoyed our breakfasts overlooking the golf course. The patio was visited by various wonderful birds when we put out papaya, watermelon and pineapple. We got some great shots of birds fighting for the fruit. The stove is really old. Tony, the owner said he intended to replace it soon. The bathroom also was quite native...open so that lizards were regular visitors. This won't bother you if you are used to the outdoor life and backpacking in developing countries.
Tony was very helpful, arranged a car and groceries and a meal on arrival. On a whole we would stay there again.

We can´t say any negatives. The pictures in web page lie; the reality is much much more perfect!! Benefit from fresh fish sale on Mt. Irvine Bay.. Thanks to Tony and his fantastic secret recipe fish meal, thanks to Tobago, thanks to paradise..
